Chapter 54 - Case The Site (1/2)
Ling Mo woke up at the first glimmer of light.
He had too many things today, such as hunting down mutated zombies to collect more gel parts. And… he had to search for more food!
The food he collected before was almost all gone and although he found some instant noodles, it wasn’t enough for Ling Mo.
Large amounts of fighting and long journeys, as well as using his power only made Ling Mo’s appetite get bigger and bigger.
Part of the reason why this happened was because the food he could collect wasn’t very nutritious and the food couldn’t make up for his energy consumption no matter how much he ate.
It wasn’t enough just to be full.
Ling Mo always packed his bags before he left, and he started to pack right after he got up.
Ling Mo was rather satisfied at this shelter as it was extremely suitable for a hideout. Hence, he didn’t plan to leave this place in a short period of time.
Although his destination was the university, this place was close enough. On the way here yesterday, Ling Mo already discovered that it was indeed difficult to move in a bustling district like this.
There were many buildings, obstacles, and zombies. All these factors together made the area extremely dangerous.
Rather than diving into an unknown area like the university, Ling Mo was more willing to take this place first and get to know the areas around here more before planning again.
He had to secure the site first but it was a big task. During the process, he could also try to collect some supplies and if he was lucky, he could find some places with potential mutated zombies.
Considering that there were twice the number of zombies around here than Third Middle School, Ling Mo planned to leave the unnecessary things behind in the room first to lighten his load.
Because this was a remote place and there were zombies wandering back and forth in the car park and construction site, survivors wouldn’t expect people living here even if they came to these areas. Hence, it was rather safe to hide his things here.
A short blade and a dagger hung from Ling Mo’s waist. The last few bars of chocolate were shoved into the pocket on his shirt, meant for restoring energy. He found a water bottle for military use and filled it with spring water. The other things in his bag were emptied and put into the box with instant noodles.
Perhaps it had been a long time since he left with an empty bag. Although he had many important tasks to do, he couldn’t help but feel lighter.
Ling Mo acted cautiously. Before taking the girls out, he hid the things under the bed and made it messy, making it look like no one had lived here. He opened the door widely before he left.
As the most bustling area in the city, the number of zombies was outrageous even though it wasn’t the main street here. All the shops around here were more damaged than others. The abandoned cars on the street and the traces of the explosions were enough to make people tremble, let alone the dried clot on the ground, looking like a layer of blood carpet.
