Xia Na was distressed as she stopped next to the dead body, sorrow flashing in her eyes.

However, she quickly shifted her glance away and spoke in a low voice, “Let’s go.”

“But…” A girl looked at Xia Na hesitantly but eventually said nothing.

The accident made the atmosphere heavy, and everyone became more nervous and careful. They realized that although they had Xia Na and Liu Yuhao opening up a path for them in the front, and Ling Mo behind them, no one could promise that the situation just now won’t happen again.

After all, their goal was to get to the school, not getting rid of zombies. Other than zombies that threw themselves at them, Xia Na and the others wouldn’t purposely search for them in shops alongside the streets.

Ling Mo learned something more about Xia Na after seeing her attitude towards dead people. Indeed, she was raising worms, and she was stupidly stubborn about it, but her decisiveness didn’t decrease in crucial moments.

Perhaps that was why she could still survive with so many worms who only knew to ask for food and drinks.

Seeing that Ling Mo wasn’t overly nervous like them but looked rather calm, disgust filled his face. But he learned from his lesson and loss of face, he didn’t dare look for trouble, and he could only curse sinisterly in a low voice next to the boy with glasses.

Wang Cheng pushed his glasses and replied in the same low voice, “How could you live without Xia Na and Liu Yuhao? You saw that Ling Mo looks down on us, what if he convinces Xia Na? The most important thing is, if those people didn’t die, can Xia Na and Liu Yuhao support all of us?”

“Well…” Lu Xin glanced at Wang Cheng in surprise and frowned, “Then what’s the point of us coming along? Fuck, I wouldn’t even give face to this kind of girl if it was before, not to mention that poor looking Ling Mo! How dares he hit me…”

Behind Wang Cheng’s glasses, a cold beam flashed across his eyes as he cut off Lu Xin’s cursing, “Why did we come along? Don’t you think it’s more beneficial for us if more people disappeared? Flatter Xia Na as much as possible, you rely on her to live right now. If I were you, I would throw away those little thoughts. You never got her before and you won’t be able to pursue her right now. Lu Xin froze. He even felt his heart tremble when he lifted his head up to look at Wang Cheng. Who would expect a refined and gentle looking Wang Cheng to scheme so maliciously…

In the brief moment when Lu Xin was distracted by thoughts, Wang Cheng already followed behind Xia Na while clenching his knife as if he planned to fight alongside with them.

However, Lu Xin clenched his teeth subconsciously after snapping back and cursed, “Hypocrite! If this didn’t happen, wouldn’t Xia Na obey me after I gifted her some stuff? As for that poor cunt, he’s not even worthy to lick my shoes!”

The sudden change in status prior and after the apocalypse made Lu Xin felt unbalanced. He was humiliated by Ling Mo, then looked down by Wang Cheng, his eyes were bloodshot. But so what? Just like what Wang Cheng said, he couldn’t even touch a corner of Xia Na’s clothes and Ling Mo could bully him however he wanted.

“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Lu Xin cursed three times and finally felt less upset in his heart.

“But he’s right…” Lu Xin glanced at his classmates around him and secretly schemed those who could possibly be sacrificed…

In the next course of the journey, everyone became more alert after the first death and, surprisingly, they made it through without another sacrifice. Occasionally, a few zombies appeared from behind and Ling Mo killed them all without needing Ye Lian to help.

However, the ideal scenario didn’t last long as they soon reached the area around the hospital. Without needing Xia Na to warn them, they knew that it was extremely dangerous around here.

It was a bustling area with a crowded facility like hospitals, it was enough to make their legs turn into jelly just by thinking how many zombies might appear. In fact, some people already wanted to quit, but Xia Na’s glare forced them back.

As expected, the scene before their eyes made them tremble as soon as they turned around the corner onto the big street.

There were numerous abandoned and remains of crushed vehicles piled densely on the street and amongst these obstacles, at least hundreds of zombies wandered unconsciously.

Half of a person’s swollen and distorted face pressed tightly against the window of a luxurious sports car close to them. The other half of his body was forcefully pulled out by zombies through the gap of the missing side window, leaving bloodstains all over that side of the car.

“How do we cross this…”

Everyone’s face was as pale as ash, even Wang Cheng’s forehead was filled with sweat as he unnoticeably took a step closer to Xia Na.
