”Ying Ying, don't believe in whatever she says or does to you from now on. She's trying to ruin your family. Your life.” Mei Ching gave me a hug from the side because she was also pregnant and around the same months into the pregnancy as me.

I didnt know when, but my tears flowed down my face and I was too upset to even say anything. Mei Ching was comforting me and telling me that she will always be there for me. Suddenly, Nanny Wu yelled loudly from downstairs that my snack had been prepared, startling both of us. She was about to come upstairs, but I told her that I would come down to eat it later.

After hearing the door close, I knew Nanny Wu went out for groceries. I waited around ten minutes before heading downstairs just in case Nanny Wu comes back for something.

When I walked to the kitchen, I whispered, ”Sis... Sis...”

”Hmm?” Mei Ching turned towards the door and wiped her mouth.

”My brother and sister in law are coming very soon, so you need to leave earlier today.” I told her truthfully and she understood my thoughts. She grabbed her bag and was about to leave, but she never made it to the door.

In front of me, she clenched onto her stomach and wrinkled her clothes. I tried helping her up, but she shook her head and cried that her stomach is hurting. I saw her bottoms getting wet and thought that her water broke, but what stained my floor was a pile of blood.

She pointed at the tray of food that she had just finished, ”That.. there's something in that food. It must have been your maid.. Haa....”

”W...What.. I'll call the ambulance and police! Hang in there sis! I won't let you die!” I dialed for emergency calls a few times with no luck of anyone picking up. Finally, it got through, and they told me that it would take at least half an hour or longer.

Mei Ching started spitting out mouthfuls of blood and she reached for my hand. She wanted to tell me something, but didn't have enough breath. I leaned forward so my ears were closer to her mouth.

She lowly whispered, ”It's too late. Listen to me, take my purse and phone. Leave. The password to my phone is 5478. Inside, you can see the notes of passwords. Follow them if you need. Help me take care of my daughter, Hen Qing. Be me from now on.”

”W..what? I'm not leaving you. No way. The ambulance is coming, you'll be fine once we reach the hospital.” I started crying and shaking my head. She was the only family member I had left otehr than Gu Wing. She was the closest one to me.

She brushed her palm against my face and smiled, ”Sister will die very soon. It's too late to save me. I know my body better than anyone. Leave before anyone realizes and don't look back. Don't come back. Hear me?”

”Sis...” I cried, hugging her in my arms.

”Go. This is the last thing I can do to protect you.” her palms left my face and her eyes became half closed. I laid her on the floor, grabbed her belongings, and walked out of the house as quick as I could. I followed her instructions and found the address to her home. Quickly, I took a shower, washed the blood stains off my clothes and changed into one of her outfits.

The alarm went off on her phone that said, ”Pick up Hen Qing from neighbor. (Green house)”

I slapped my face after stopping the alarm. My eyes reflected the same face as Mei Ching, but from this moment on, I can only be the real Mei Ching.

”I am Mei Ching.” Over these years, I've used Mei Ching's husband's money as support for the both of us. When I went for the next obstetrician gynecologist for a check up, they told me that my baby's heartbeat had stopped.
