After she had finished cleaning the bobby pin, she bent it back to its original shape and clipped strands of her loosened hair up. ”Let's go.” she pulled his collar gently and pointed to the other side of the door. There wasn't much light in the short tunnel. It was rather dim. Everyone took out their cell phones and used it to guide the way.
When they reached the end of the tunnel, they realized it was split into three different directions.
”Which way is it?” People murmured behind Huan Hei and Ya Nuo. She rubbed her chin and an idea flashed through her mind.
”Hei! Walk over to all three routes and stay there for a brief minute for each. I need to smell the air.” She excitedly demanded.
”Huh? Okay..” He thought it was weird for her to make such a request. Out of all the things she could've asked, she decided to breathe in air. Unknown to everyone, Ya Nuo always had a sharp sense similar to animals. Her instincts were never wrong, and that was how she determined whether the foods were cooked well or not.
He walked over to each route and stood there for a brief minute; allowing her to inhale the air. After sniffing the third route, she pointed to the route to their left, ”Yang Qiu Rei was definitely here and went that way. Someone else was also with him.”
Everyone scratched their heads in confusion, ”How could you tell from just a few sniffs?” One of the guests asked curiously because he repeated what she had just done, but he couldn't distinguish the difference between the three routes.
”Well, the first hint is his overuse of hair gel. Second, his cologne stinks and is one of a kind because the only one that he used is customized to suit his liking. I hate that nasty scent. Third, well, the third is my accurate nose. The third reason is more than enough of an explanation. Let's go that route!” She pointed confidently and enthusiastically that nobody questioned her any further.
Huan Hei smiled seeing her adventurous behavior. 'She totally forgot that I was carrying her around. Good. Good. Well, even if she tries to get away, what I told her earlier should've done the trick.'
Ya Nuo missed the playfulness in his smile as she concentrated on the short trip. Once they've reached the end of the route, they exited to the underground parking lot. ”This is it?” She grunted irritably. 'I got all worked up and even showed my special talents just to be led to the damn parking lot? Damn! That asshole isn't even here either! He must've escaped...'
”Looks like we were a bit too late.” Hei whispered while watching her tiny expressions closely.
”Heh. Nope. We didn't.” She gave a small laugh.
”Hmm? But there's nobody here.” He looked around and saw nothing, but a vacant parking area.
”Come out. I know you're here. I could smell your light, Daisy perfume. That's the special edition from De Beaux Rêves. This scent is specially made from the rarest flowers and was once declared as the most heavenly scented perfumes in the world. It's irreplaceable and only the richest of the riches could get it, if they are lucky.” Ya Nuo rubbed the tip of her nose and waited for the hiding person to reveal themselves.
Slowly, an elegant elder lady stepped out from the dark, ”Sweetie, your nose is quite accurate.” The lady wore a traditional royal blue gold floral embroidered lace Qi Pao that covered most of her legs. She had a graceful aura around her and made her feel approachable.
”Thanks for the compliment. Could you tell us why you were here?” Ya Nuo asked politely. The elderly lady got closer towards them and Huan Hei instinctively stepped backwards. He didn't know if she had any weapons or if she was a bad person. Regardless, he didn't want to risk anything because Ya Nuo was in his arms.
The elderly lady showed the most joyful and friendly smile, ”Don't be scared. I won't bite. I'm here for my granddaughter's engagement party. I've known about this underground parking lot for a while since I used to be a frequent guest. There is a door on the other side over there that brings you to the waiting area.” she pointed somewhere into the darkness. Zhen Qi flashed his cell phone light towards where the granny was pointing towards. There was, indeed, a door.
”Then why did you come through here and not the main entrance?” Ya Nuo couldn't believe in her words completely.
The elderly lady presented the gift that she prepared for her granddaughter's engagement party as proof and said, ”That's a good question, but someone else will answer it for me. Right? H-u-b-b-y. I know you're there. Hiding behind our son wouldn't help!” She made sure her voice was majestic, loud and clear.
