Xu Tao hissed through his teeth like a rattlesnake shaking it's tail to warn living beings, ”don't push your luck!”
Huan Hei: ”It's not called pushing my luck. It's called looking down on the weak, something that you've mastered since what? 5? You were the arrogant and spoiled rich brat who practically slaps cash on everyone's face, but those who are richer than you. So now, I am teaching you the first lesson in life. Don't underestimate others just because they look less than what you are. Being rich does not mean anything. You can't even earn yourself a penny and you dare act as if your parent's money is yours.”
Xu Tao: ”So what? Who told them to be born as a poor citizen and not rich? It's not my fault that their family is poor.”
Huan Hei replied with an impatient tone, ”Oh? I wonder how President Xu will react to your responses. As his son, you should be clearer than any outsider that before your father became as successful as he is today, he was a commoner just like everyone else. Do you know what made him respectable in the business world? It is because of his dedication and hard work that got him where he is today. Listening to the foul words that are coming out of your mouth makes me question how he raised you. He may be a great business person, but he still needs to work on disciplining his children.”
Lan Lan shouted and pointed at Huan Hei with an accusing tone, ”Xu Huan Hei! Just because your family has a bit more money than our family, does not make you the king of the world. At first, I thought that you'll be a gentleman and let us off easily because of our partnership and friendship. Now, not only did you disregard our relationship for that girl, you are publicly shaming us in front of others! Who do you think you are?”
Ya Nuo's smile was as gentle as water and captured everyone's attention as she circled her arms around Huan Hei's arm, ”Miss. Xing, even though your family business is one of the many companies that Xu corps worked with, it does not give you the right to scream like an absurd maniac in a fancy place like this. Even if you don't feel shameful, I do, for your father. Instead of questioning my fiancé about his words, how about teaching your younger brother some manners beforehand? He's been lighting up fire all over the place and making bets for no reason. He literally is the only here who thinks of himself as the king and shall I remind you that personal bets do not mix with business relations? As for your personal relationship, I'm sure we already know that there's nothing between you and Hei, so please avoid misleading words and phrases in the future.”
Lan Lan took off her damaged bag and violently slammed it on a nearby table, ”Between Huan Hei and I, there is no spot for you to speak. Don't call him your fiancé when your families haven't set the engagement date yet. You should know that families need to match in status. If you're not up to my level yet, then you don't have a single right to talk to me. And if you talk to me again, you'll end up like this used crap.” She slammed the bag on the table again and stabbed a fork into the scratched surface, making an ugly scene.
Ya Nuo maintained her composure despite Lan Lan's threat and replied, ”Hei, it seems like she doesn't understand what I'm saying. She's too thick skinned, so you'll have to boil that skin and make it soggy. Tell her, who am I and who is she to you.”
Huan Hei rubbed the left side of her face gently, bent down, and warmed her lips up with a passionate kiss. After their lips connected, his free arm naturally hugged her closer by her waist, and their kiss deepened. While Ya Nuo's eyes were closed during the kiss, everyone else saw how protective he was of her. His eyes were opened the entire time glaring piercingly at Lan Lan's direction. Maybe it's a coincidence, but the middle finger on his hand was lifted up pointing towards Lan Lan's direction too.
The host interrupted their intimacy act and announced that Huan Hei was the one who bid the highest amount of $200 million. Therefore, tonight's dessert belongs to him! At this moment, Ya Nuo thought about the dessert and repeated in her head, 'This dessert better be worth that price! Expensive....who cares about the winner of the stupid bet when the dessert costs more than raising a child?! Welp, at least the donation is for a good cause.'
