13 Becoming A Mage (1/2)
James went to work the next day, and while working, he heard some of his coworkers talking about Realm of Legends. He even heard his boss praising the game.
”Hey James I heard that you got a free pod from the lottery, is that true?”
”Yes.”
”You are only the only one that I know who got something from that lottery. I was really disappointed when I didn't get one. So tell me, how is it like in the game?”
”It feels more real than any game before. If it wasn't for the system, I really would have beloved that I was in a different world.”
”Damn, that sounds great. Now I fell like working more to get moneys faster so that I could buy a pod.”
”Enough chit chat, get back to work,” said the boss. After work, James went home. He then went on his phone to text his friends.

Max: I'm gonna miss you when I get to college.
James: It's hard to believe that you and Laurence got into one of the top colleges. I wasn't smart enough to even apply there.
Max: Which college did you get into to?
James: I'm going to the local community college. Anyways, good lick over there.
Max: Bye.

James was deep in thought. His friends are all going to top tier colleges around the country, while he was stuck at home. It would have been depressing for him, but he has more time to play Realm of Legends than them. He then logged back into the game. When he logged in, he found himself on the bed that he was sleeping on. He saw that his roommate left.
'I should get to class now, can't fall behind everyone at the starting point.'
When he go to the class, he was surprised. He was told that he was no longer apart of a class, but instead he had to directly report to a professor in order to learn.
”I am sorry about this, but the king has decided to send you less talented foreigners to branch academies. Those who pledged loyalty to the kingdom would be given better resources than those who have not.”
”Am I given the option to do that?”
