Lu Ming heaved a sigh of relief and started the car again.
After a while, they arrived at This Place Hospital.
Lu Ming carried the old man to the entrance. Although the security guard was surprised at their sorry state, he did not forget to ask, “Do you have an appointment?”
Lu Ming took out an identity card from his pocket. “I am Lu Ming.”
The security guard had received information about the new boss’s name early on. When he heard this, he was shocked at first. Then, after repeatedly verifying that the identity card was real, he respectfully said, “Please enter.”
“Can you tell me where the filming location is?”
Lu Ming put away his identity card. After taking a few steps, he returned to the entrance and asked.
The security guard answered, “If you’re looking for the radiology department, go to the fourth floor of the building on the left.”
“Alright!”
The security guard was about to ask if he should get someone to carry the old man when the person disappeared.
All drenched, Lu Ming entered the elevator.
Once he reached the fourth floor, he walked out.
The nurses on duty were astonished.
His black hair was plastered to his head and his clothes were stained with mud. He looked like he had rolled on the streets several times.
They could not help but wonder if this person was an honored guest who had an appointment with the hospital.
To them, he did not look like a rich person from any angle.
They wondered how he could have entered without an appointment.
A nurse walked up and asked carefully, “May I know what this gentleman is here for?”
“Filming. Where should we go for filming?”
Lu Ming asked.
“Filming?”
The nurse instinctively thought that they were filming a television drama.
But she did not see any cameras.
Lu Ming was anxious like a cat on a hot tin roof. “This person was hit by a car and needs to be filmed!”
The nurse saw the light and said, “Oh, oh, this! Turn right and go straight. That’s the radiology department.”
“Okay.”
Lu Ming followed the direction of the nurse and found the location. He grabbed the middle-aged doctor who had just walked out and said, “Help me take a scan of this old man!”
Chief Physician Zuo took a few steps back in disdain. After he sized them up, he said, “How did you get here? It’s impossible for someone like you, who is covered in cheap clothes, to get an appointment!”
“Can you save him first?”
Lu Ming frowned and said.
Doctor Zuo glanced at the old man and said scornfully, “Save him? Do you know who the people I save are? They’re rich people from all over the country! You guys aren’t scavengers, are you?
Even if I were to save him, neither of you would be able to pay the medical bill. You’ve brought with you a whiff of poverty! ”
Seeing that he would not budge, Lu Ming said, “A human life is at stake!”
“A human life is at stake?”
Chief Physician Zuo laughed mockingly. “Let me tell you, the lives of lowly people like you are worthless! Only the lives of rich people are worth saving! I don’t think the old thing will live much longer! Why don’t you find a random spot in the wilderness and bury him!”
“You call yourself a doctor?!”
Lu Ming shouted angrily.
Chief Physician Zuo adjusted his glasses and said coldly, “Yeah! If I’m not a doctor, are you? What a joke!”
“What kind of doctor are you? Aren’t doctors supposed to save lives? What are you doing now? Do you want to watch him die?”
Lu Ming questioned forcefully.
Chief Physician Zuo clicked his tongue in displeasure. “So what if he dies? At worst, you can sue me and I will pay some compensation. Now get out of here! This Place Hospital is not something that those people outside can compare to! And it’s not a place where anyone can come and go as they please!”
Lu Ming held the old man tightly and said, “Have you memorized the Hippocratic Oath?!”
