Early in the morning, the second day.
“Morning, sir. Are you Mr. Thulhu Botley?”
Opening the door, Thulhu saw two police officers. Both of them were wearing badges. On the badge was a royal sword wrapped in thistles and thorns.
“Yes, I am.”
Thulhu wasn’t surprised at all. After verifying their IDs, he let the two police officers in.
“So, is there anything I can do for you, sir?” asked Thulhu, pretending that he knew nothing.
“Yes, we have some questions to ask you,” said one of the officers.
The female officer pulled out a file photo. “Do you know this lady?”
It was a black-and-white photo, and it wasn’t very clear. But still, Thulhu recognized Beatrice.
In the picture, Beatrice looked inhumanly cold. The look on her face gave Thulhu an uncomfortable chill.
It was as if her cold eyes had some creepy power, able to directly stare at Thulhu even through the photo!
It was so eerie!
Thulhu had no idea what he had let loose.
But he could only keep these thoughts to himself.
“Mr. Botley… Mr. Botley?”
The officer called his name, seeing that he was lost in thought. “Are you alright?”
“I’m good… Sorry, I was just…”
Thulhu suggested the two officers take a seat and he grabbed them some water. “Sorry, it’s the only thing I have here.”
“Thanks.”
The female officer closed the file and pulled out her notebook. “So, can you tell us what kind of relationship you have with this lady?”
“She’s Beatrice, my classmate… I once pursued her.”
Thulhu didn’t feel embarrassed at all.
“She is indeed a beauty…” The female officer flashed him a smile. “It’s quite normal for young people…”
“Sorry…” said Thulhu, “I heard that she’s missing. Is that right?”
“No, she’s not missing!”
The male officer said, “She’s currently accused of three murders and nine intentional assaults. We’re chasing her!”
What?
Thulhu was shocked. He had never expected that the corpse princess he created would cause such huge trouble.
If it had been an ordinary corpse princess, it would have started to rot after being so far away from its caster without a power supply.
“Beatrice… No! She’s not like that!” Thulhu burst out.
It turned out that Thulhu could be quite a good actor.
“Then… Mr. Botley, can you tell us where you were at seven o’clock on July 3rd?”
The female officer gently tapped the notebook with her pen and clearly asked the question.
“I… I was on a date with Beatrice at White Tower…”
Thulhu scratched his head and said, “Beatrice invited me there, but when she arrived, she said that I was the one who had invited her… Although it wasn’t a very good opening, the date eventually turned out to be a good one!”
Molly must have told the police this part, so Thulhu didn’t hide it.
“So both of you thought it was the other person’s invitation? Don’t lie! We know what you did that night!”
The male officer suddenly said the words with a very serious look on his face.
