Chapter 7 (2/2)
Thulhu felt like part of his bones and blood had been drawn out. His face was pale and he had to sit back on the couch.
He then heard the sound of flowing liquid.
He opened his eyes with great effort and saw that the blood on the floor was flowing, as if it was alive, back into Beatrice’s chest.
After all the blood was back inside, the wound healed on its own, as if nothing had ever happened.
At the end of the ritual, the pentagram quickly shrank and became an imprint on Beatrice’s forehead.
Then, with a flash, even the imprint disappeared into her skin.
Meanwhile, Thulhu could feel that his spirit was connected to something else in this space. It felt like a puppy on a leash.
It worked!
Struggling, he gave the body a command. “Stand up.”
Beatrice’s body twitched a bit and then climbed to its feet on its own. There was a hollow look on its face as it stared at him.
It was quite creepy!
The waiter was still banging on the door. Thulhu tried to tidy himself up a little more before he opened the door with a pissed look on his face.
“What is it?”
“Er…”
The waiter almost fell to the floor when the door suddenly opened. He then quickly glanced around the room.
One gentleman and one lady. Clothes a bit messy. The gentleman looked a little pale. The waiter wondered how hard the man had worked.
Feeling a bit embarrassed, the waiter cleared his throat and asked, “Sir, lady, do you need anything else?”
“No… we… don’t!”
Before Thulhu said anything, Beatrice, or actually, the corpse princess, had already answered!
“S… sorry!”
The waiter looked very embarrassed. He hurriedly closed the door.
Thulhu turned around, horrified. “Shit! You talk?!”
A corpse princess was a servant of the lowest rank. In other words, controlling a corpse princess was like manipulating a puppet. A puppet couldn’t talk.
Maybe some masters could do it, but Thulhu was by no means a master!
“All extraordinary rituals can be very dangerous, because you don’t know what the end product might be, especially with the dark ones. It’s very possible that the results might be very horrible…”
Thulhu recalled the lines in the book. A thrill ran through him.
Staring at Beatrice, he felt that she looked colder and somehow even more beautiful.
He tried to command her to stand up, sit down, reach out with her hands, lift her legs, and talk. But this time, she didn’t speak.
Thulhu realized that some kind of variation had definitely happened with this corpse princess, which no longer made it a simple puppet. Instead, it could follow his commands and make some semi-intelligent movements.
The end product of this ritual was quite strange, and it was very possibly a bad result!
Anyway…
Thulhu checked the room and found that all the blood had been drawn back into the body.
He immediately put on his coat and asked Beatrice to follow him. They walked out of the place.
“Go to a crowded place, and then leave after that. Get as far away as possible from this place.”
They looked like a couple saying their goodbyes, but Thulhu secretly gave his command.
Thulhu needed an alibi, and then the corpse princess could “die” again somewhere far away from him.
If it was a corpse princess of the lowest rank, it wouldn’t be able to move very far from the caster. However, this one was clearly different.
Because Thulhu didn’t know whether he could control this thing, he had no intention of studying it. He just wanted to stay as far away from it as possible.
“Sorry, Beatrice. May you rest in peace.”
Watching the corpse princess walk away, Thulhu gave a sigh of relief. He headed for somewhere busy to give himself an alibi.
He knew this wouldn’t end just like this.
“Damn! Why did my date end up like this?!”
The waiter’s smile made Thulhu very uncomfortable. This whole thing made him very uncomfortable!
