Chapter 50 (1/2)
Fang Lin snickered in his heart. It seemed like the people in the alchemy sect valued his Three Mountain Shakes technique very much such that they promised rewards that could be considered extremely generous. The promise of instantly promoting him to medium-grade disciple was enough to make numerous low-grade disciples in the alchemy to be incomparably envious.
On the other hand, Fang Lin did not know much about the White Mountain Cauldron, but he figured that it would be no worse than his Golden Flame Cauldron for sure.
The old man in white looked at Fang Lin, beaming. He was extremely confident and refused to believe that the kid would turn down such generous rewards.
“Elder, will all the disciples get to learn the Three Mountain Shakes technique if I offer it to the alchemy sect?” Fang Lin asked.
The old man was stunned for a moment upon hearing that. Soon, he answered, “No, of course. Such a precious ancient alchemy technique like the Three Mountains Shakes can only be placed in the alchemy pavilion naturally. One must be a high-grade disciple in order to learn that. Moreover, the technique must be exchanged by paying a certain amount of compensation.”
Upon listening to these words, Fang Lin sneered in his heart. It seemed like this old man was the elder of the alchemy pavilion. He was here to represent the interest of the alchemy pavilion but not the interest of the entire alchemy sect or the sect disciples.
If Fang Lin were to hand over the Three Mountain Shakes to this old man, he estimated that the technique would appear in the alchemy pavilion by the next day. Due to the rarity of Three Mountain Shakes, the exchange rate would be exceedingly high as well. Not many high-grade disciples could afford to exchange for it anyway.
This way, the party that would profit the most, in the end, would still be the alchemy pavilion. The alchemy sect disciples could only lament about their inadequacy when they compared their skills to the power of others.
Fang Lin’s ideology was to disseminate the Three Mountain Shakes. Even though he loathed quite a number of people in the alchemy sect, he was an ideal, ambitious, selfless, and righteous alchemist. Furthermore, he had even been an honorable Extreme Alchemist in his past life, so he could not allow himself to treasure his own skills selfishly. He wanted his alchemy skills to be disseminated to the world and ensure that all were equal.
Of course, not everyone was capable of learning an alchemy technique like the Three Mountain Shakes. It was utterly impossible to thoroughly understand it without having studied and trained for a period of at least eight to ten years.
Fang Lin had learned the Three Mountain Shakes in his past life. It had taken him a total of three long years just to completely master the alchemy technique.
At once, Fang Lin looked at the old man in white and voiced out, “Elder, I don’t think that the Three Mountain Shakes should be taken into the alchemy pavilion, but it should be disseminated amongst the disciples.
Upon listening to his words, the old man had a drastic change of expression. When he looked at Fang Lin once again, his gaze was tainted with a chill.
Fang Lin’s words defied the alchemy pavilion’s interest without a doubt. On the other hand, the old man felt extremely displeased that he would make such a remark against him as the elder of the alchemy pavilion.
“Fang Lin, the Three Mountain Shakes must be taken into the alchemy pavilion. This matter has already been discussed with the first elder and a few of the alchemy pavilion elders,” he said indifferently. The feigned smile on his face earlier had already vanished, leaving only sternness.
Fang Lin noticed that the old man had shown his true colors, so he stopped his respectful behavior as well. “In that case, I’m afraid that I can’t hand over the Three Mountain Shakes then,” he responded, pursing his lips.
The old man’s lips curled into a faint disdainful smile. “This matter is way beyond your approval grade. The first elder has already decided, so you’ll just need to abide.”
Fang Lin answered with an ‘oh’ before he turned around and left. He utterly ignored the old man’s threat.
Upon seeing Fang Lin turning a deaf ear to him, the old man was infuriated. I’m the elder of the alchemy pavilion. Which one of the disciples has never behaved respectfully when they see me? How dare you turn around and leave?
“Fang Lin! Do you even have any respect for me?” he shouted in rage.
Fang Lin waved his hand to dismiss him as he did not even have the intention to turn around. His silhouette soon vanished at the end of the corridor.
The old man had a sour expression. He turned red with rage for a while and became ghastly pale for a moment. So, it turned out that what he thought would be as easy as breathing had actually failed beyond his expectations.
