48 Wager (1/2)

Having agreed to their wager. Lucius and Nora quickly changed their slow walk into a blistering sprint. The joyful expressions of two longtime battle-junkies stretched across their faces. Ignoring all doubts within their minds, they threw themselves at the several dozen black-robed figures.

At such a sight, even the undead Newborn Revenants paused, bewildered by the oncoming human projectiles. Although undead, they a rather limited primal intelligence. All creatures knew that numbers almost always meant power. Yet, two lunatics were hurtling towards them. It was only natural for them to be baffled.

Overcoming their own befuddlement, they trusted in their numbers and charged towards Lucius and Nora. Even their limited intelligence encouraged them. Unaware of the imminent danger, their pack-mentality urged them onwards.

As the two parties quickly approached each other, Lucius raised his cane. Its true purpose shining through as a cane became endowed with an imposing aura. The aura quickly spread to Lucius himself. This change startled Nora, 'Wait... that's sword intent! Not only that!! Lucius has achieved the state of one with his sword!!!!'

Nora's emotions began to rage within her, joy, excitement, glee, but this would have to wait for later. She would reserve her rejoicing for after the battle.

'Well if he's going to use intent... It's only natural for me to use my cultivation!

Releasing the full might of her cultivation, leaning on her cultivation techniques instead of raw force. As she released the might of her Demonic Witchgod Transformations, she became enshrouded by a black mist, then when she released her Dragon King's Incarnation, the two cultivation techniques intermingled, transforming the black mist into four mist-like dragon heads emerging from the mist.

Forgoing defence and betting everything on offence, both having wagered valuable things in their interest, they would hold nothing back.

The first to collide was Lucius, his cane swung with immense force and intent, easily surpassing the resistance provided by the undead body of the Newborn Revenant, messily decapitating the revenant as the degrading muscles tore with the application of force.

Without skipping a beat, Lucius lept towards the next undead as he spoke, ”That's one!”

”Don't get so cocky old man...”

Following suit, Nora barreled her way into the closest Newborn Revenant. Nora's fist barreled towards the masked face of the Revenant, the sheer force behind her fist shattering the mask as it penetrated past it and caved in the Revenant's entire head.
