23 Fire + Mana = Dragon (1/2)

As soon as Nora walked into the room, she asked, ”Great Mage Sev, would you happen to have some paper I could use?”. Oddly perplexed but curious, he obliged, ”I just happen to have a stack of paper. What's the occasion, Nora?”

Understanding the inquiry, Nora simply responded, ”It's easier to show you than to explain, would you mind?” while gesturing towards the paper.

”Here...” Great Mage Sev handed a paper to Nora. She then drew upon the Mana within her body and formed a brush like a construct. The sight of which made Great Mage Sev freeze. To him, this was an impossible sight. He instantly recognized such a level of mana mastery. How was it possible for Nora to have already accomplished something he was still trying to achieve. It perplexed him to the point in which he forgot he was still holding onto the paper, his grip unrelenting until Nora broke him from his trance with a slight cough.

Then, with the paper in hand, Nora attempted something she had previously theorized, she imbued a tiny portion of the ambient fire element into the tip of the brush construct and began to burn onto the paper, ”Tempering by a Thousand Cuts”.

”Great Mage Sev, would you mind passing a few dozen pages? I'll show you what it is I'm writing after class...”

With a slight stutter at the sight of Nora writing with a Mana construct, unfazed by the feat she was performing, he responded, ”Uh... mmm.. sure...”

With a stack of papers, Nora made her way to her seat and waited for the class to start. While she waited she continued to write on the remaining pages. Luckily for Nora, Great Mage Sev realized how much trouble and chaos Nora could cause if someone spread the information that Nora could create Mana constructs to the Lightcrows or any other of the major families.

In a decisive moment, he with a few words, cast a camouflage spell. Upon the casting, Nora immediately felt its effects. She recognized the feeling the spell gave off, it reminded her of a stealth technique she once practiced. Instead of invisibility, the effect was more of indifference. Someone would simply pass over the one enshrouded in the spell instead noticing the one in question.

If such as spell was so easy to cast by a practitioner of black magic, Nora could somewhat understand why the Lightcrows feared them. In Nora's old world, such a technique was only practicable by those who already have the power to shatter mountains with a single finger, someone far more powerful than Nora believed Great Mage Sev to even be capable of.

Not minding the spell, Nora continued to write the 'Tempering by a Thousand Cuts' technique for Percy, all in time before class begun.

As soon as the class had begun, Great Mage Sev covertly cancelled the spell on Nora and began his lesson. Unlike the previous lesson which was on Goblins and their hierarchy, today's lesson was based on two very similar creatures to Goblins, the Hobgoblin and the Bugbear. The former being a tall humanoid creature who resembles a human far more than they resemble a goblin. Their orangey tan skin and the vast amount of fur that covers their bodies being their biggest giveaways. Their constant warlust makes the Hobgoblin a dangerous creature to face. Often grouping up with other Hobgoblins to raid and pillage. The Bugbear, on the other hand, was a far lazier creature with even superior abilities than the Hobgoblin. Their appearance resembled a large orange bipedal ape. Dangerously powerful and incredibly sneaky, Bugbears were a force to be reckoned with, well... If only they weren't so unbelievably lazy. The only things that could make a Bugbear take action were the necessity to consume food and the desire to find a better place to sleep and laze around.

Nora couldn't help but laugh at the idea of such a lazy creature as the Bugbear, how could they even come close to surviving with such lazy tendencies.

The lesson flew by. Before she knew it, the class had wrapped up and people were exiting the class. Nora and Percy made their way to Great Mage Sev before he personally led them to Great Mage Mirlie's class.

When they arrived at Great Mage Mirlie's class, some students were still leaving the class. Nora waited for the last few students to leave before handing the manual she had written out to Percy.
