Great Mage Sev started his class by explaining that, ”This class was normally offered to 3rd year students but due to some unexpected circumstances the course is now beginning during the 1st year. The material might be a bit harder to understand than some of your other courses but you may find, such as I have, that this course may prove far more valuable.”

Nora couldn't help notice that the middle-aged man was also a 'Great Mage' like Great Mage Mirlie. This was rather odd as she had noticed that nearly all of the other teachers throughout the school had similar Mana levels to Mage Glenn and Mage Incanus.

”If we may begin, please open your textbooks to page 12...” Great Mage Sev carefully instructing the class to skip the table of contents

”Our lesson today begins with the most common creature, and often a nuisance. Goblins.” Great Mage Sev explained with a heavy sigh in his words.

”Goblins are one of the most adaptable species of creatures. Often physically changing to suit their environments. Some of the many examples of Goblins adaptability are such as the Cave Goblins who have lost much of the pigment in their skin to reduce the need for certain nutrients while also having their eyes mutate to see better in dark places.”

The class continued much to the enjoyment of Nora. Great Mage Sev continued detailing many of the recorded adaptations of Goblins, such as the Rock Goblins from the mountains with increased their increase defence to the Marsh Goblins with webbed feet.

The class rather quickly glossed over some of the variants due to the real focus of the class being less of creatures and more on defence against said creatures.

The class shifted focus onto the hierarchy of Goblins. How most villages were lead by a Goblin King, a powerful creature on equal footing to a Great Knight. The Goblin King often protected by Hobgoblins, a sub-species of Goblin which is born once in every group of 20 Goblins.

Great Mage Sev then covered his experience with Goblins and the major flaw within Goblin anatomy. Their rather frail arms always provide a fruitful target for one who is trying to kill Goblins. Then, with the wrapping up of class, Great Mage Sev covered the easiest ways to detect if a Goblin Tribe has taken residence in an area. The many types of markings which Goblins leave in their territory, the absence of only small animals, and many many more possible indications that Goblins had made their claim to an area.

Only once Nora was nudged by Percy did she realize that the class had finished. She had been so immersed in learning about a type of creature that she couldn't wait for the next class.

Having finished class Nora headed to leave the classroom but before she could leave she heard the voice of Great Mage Sev ask her a question, ”Little girl, would you mind helping me out again next class?”

Having grown to rather like the class Nora happily answered, ”I'd be happy to”
