4 If Only You Were Here. (1/2)

Just as Yang Tian-Xu waited for Tong Yue-Yan to finish the salad, Yang Tian-Xu was thinking about her, the girl he had a dream about and couldn't stop thinking.He had imagined the girl sitting across from him was her instead of Tong Yue-Yan. The corner of his lips curved up, and Tong Yue-Yan thought it was a smile for her. She was happy and smiled back. Also, Yang Tian-Xu thoughts were already in a daze.

Yang Tian-Xu snapped out of his thoughts, back to reality as he heard a notification from his smartphone. He looked down to read the message.

”Boss, you would be so surprised about this student, I recently interviewed. This student has a photographic memory! I already informed the student to start the internship in two weeks.”

- Sent from Assistant Tseng at 2:50 PM.

Photographic memory? Yang Tian-Xu ponders this claim. Since it was his assistant that made the claim Yang Tian-Xu was sure he has proof and backings for it. Yang Tian-Xu directly messaged, ”Okay.” to his assistant. Showing the trust he has for him. Of course, after working together for five years. He placed high confidence in his assistant, and his assistant had never disappointed him.

After lunch, Yang Tian-Xu ask her if there was anywhere else that she would like to see? All afternoon he had taken her to most of the attractions. She wanted more time with him, but she can't see everything in one go. She told him, ”You must be tired after all the walk, how about we wait for next time?”

”I don't think I'll have time next time.” His reply was straightforward. He wanted this to be the last time he kept her company.

”Right, you must be very busy with work.” She thought of a reason for him, and he would reply.

”Yes.”

”Is there anywhere else you would recommend?” She asked him for his suggestion, and Yang Tian-Xu would tell her that he is a very busy man. So he has nowhere else to take her. ”I have a close friend named Jin Qi-Long, he likes to go to many places. If you like I can recommend him to you.”

Tong Yue-Yan didn't know if she should laugh or cry. How can he push her to another man? She might as well take her initiate and suggest a theme park. ”How about we go to the theme park? I haven't been to the ones here in City Y.”

”Sure.” He nodded, and then he quickly paid for the meal, and got up and left. Before leaving, Tong Yue-Yan need to use the lady's restroom. She excused herself and went to fix her makeup. She got out after she finishes her business and apologised to Yang Tian-Xu and thank him for his patience.

The time was 3:00 PM. They got into the car, and he drove to the nearest theme park which was about half an hour drive from where they were.

At the same time at 3:00 PM. Wang Yi-An had just exited the building of Yang Corps. She started to feel a sense of satisfaction and happiness, of course with Assistant Tseng's word of employment made her very happy. So she headed home and didn't forget to drop by the supermarket to buy some grocery to cook dinner for her and her mother.

Friday is a busy day at the market because it was already 3:20 PM. The market was quite packed even though it was a 24-hour market, and the fresh produces are generally out in the morning. The afternoon was the time when the prices for the produces drops. As for Wang Yi-An, she wanted to get the best-discounted prices as possible.

Meanwhile, Yang Tian-Xu and Tong Yue-Yan had reached the theme park at 3:25 PM and Yang Tian-Xu paid for the tickets, and they walked in through the gates. As they were walking throughout the theme park, Tong Yue-Yan felt like this is a date, to her, she gets to be close to Yang Tian-Xu. To Yang Tian-Xu, he felt like this was a meaningless trip he felt as if he was a babysitter.

Tong Yue-Yan didn't play any ride or anything. They just took a stroll around the theme park, and she would be watching the kids play as they have their fun. Tong Yue-Yan wanted to hint to him that she loves kids. ”The children are so adorable, and I would love to have as many as I can in the future.”

How could Yang Tian-Xu not understand what she meant? He chooses to ignore it. They walked around, and she would talk, and he would listen half-heartedly.

On the other hand, Wang Yi-An had a very productive day. Strolling the supermarket for great deals and food that would last her and her family for three or four days. After a good 10 or 15 minutes of shopping for food. Wang Yi-An walked back home with hands filled with groceries while thinking about how happy her mother would be when she told her she had gotten the internship at Yang Corps.

Wang Yi-An had returned home after a 20-minute walk from the supermarket. Her home is a small townhouse; the area had a lot of similar looking houses. With lots of housing closed together. The townhouse she lived with having only two floors. The top is the three bedrooms, and the ground level has the living room and the kitchen.

Generally, for Wang Yi-An, she would be at work, but because of her interview today she had taken the day off from her part-time job. Her mother, however, was still at work. She should be off early today. Wang Yi-An exactly couldn't wait to tell her mother the good news.

Wang Yi-An cleaned around the house and did the chores, and began to prepare dinner for her and her mother. She put away the groceries and started to organise the fridge.

Wang Yi-An only has her mother left, her mother has a full-time job, and she had to work and go to school, so it was best if she prepared all the food that Wang Yi-An had brought home. Wang Yi-An would cook the food first, so they are ready-to-eat proportion into zip-lock bags and freeze them in the freezer so that they could grab a bag with them to reheat. The chores required some time to accomplish, but Wang Yi-An had patients. After she cooked the meals, bagged them, and place them in the freezers, she began her next chores.

Even though the house is small but for two people it was the perfect size home. There are three bedrooms upstairs, the enormous room in the house had a sign that said, ”Mom”. Then the second biggest room has a sign that said, ”Yi-An” then the last room at the end of the hallway had a sign that said, ”Yi-Xiu” Wang Yi-An went to the bathroom and cleaned it up. She was a fast cleaner, and she finished in 20 min.

Then she would vacuum the entire home, as she often returns to the kitchen to check on her stew for tonight's dinner. Today they were to have beef stew. Her mother's favourite dish. Wang Yi-An had spent her entire day cleaning and preparing meals, as well as food for her and her mother for three to four days.

Time sure goes by quickly, before the time turns 6:00 PM. Tong Yue-Yan was pretty much tired, and Yang Tian-Xu had pretty much spent the entire day with her.

That should satisfy his mother, wouldn't it? He thought to himself. Then he asked, ”Is there anywhere else you would like to go?”

”No,” she shook her head, and he said, ”Then we should head back. It's almost 6 PM, and I should take you back home.”

”Don't you want to go have dinner first?” she asked.

He firmly rejected her, ”After a long day, it's better if I take you home. Then they exited the theme park and his mother, Mr Yang had called him.

The caller was his mother; naturally, he would pick it up. ”Tian-Xu, my good son. You should invite Yue-Yan to our home for dinner. I have invited her aunt to come as well.”

Yang Tian-Xu sighed, but he obediently agrees, ”Okay.” Then he hangs up and turned to Tong Yue-Yan and told her, ”My mother called, she would like to have you over for dinner and had already invited your aunt. Would you like to come as well?”
