In ancient times, dragons once ruled many cluster of galaxies and were capable of doing great feats of magic and destruction. The most powerful were the Immortal Dragon Lords, who are considered as kings of the draconic races. However, the rule of dragons came to an abrupt end with the rise of Aons, who made war with the ruling dragon class during their expansion.

The war continued for a long period of time resulting in mass destruction on both sides, many planets and stars were destroyed in the process. At the end of the war both sides came to a mutual non-interference agreement to prevent being exploited by a third party.

A long time has passed and Aons have increased their strength to a monstrous level and are acknowledged as the rulers of the universe. But a war never broke out between Aons and Dragons after the agreement. Despite the dragons' decline in numbers and territory, they are still very much active in the universe and feared by the general populace as fearsome beings. There are civilizations which uses something like the spells born from the wisdom of the dragons.

The main HQ of Dragons is Dragon world, a cluster of galaxies, where they are the rulers. Aons don't interfere or trespass into the dragon world and respect the agreement. The Dragon world is the head of the alliance formed by the most powerful civilizations of the known universe as a deterrent to Aons.

But Dragons on MBN are artificially created and are byproducts(failures) of experiments conducted by Aons. They can't compare to true dragons and have many flaws. These flaws are being exploited by Lizardmen to hunt them down. They are allowed to grow on MBN and changes from one generation to other are monitored to gather data for future experiments.

The experiments resulted in formation of many types of artificial dragons with varying capabilities and appearances. Dragons come in many scale shades, size and forms, depending on their rank and habitat. These Artificial Dragons inherited many of the Dragon traits.

Similar to True Dragons, they are not very social creatures, even amongst their own kind. The bonds of familial kinship are also not very strong among them. They would randomly find a place to lay eggs and leave them there, or kick newborns out of the nest a year or two after they were born. After leaving the nest, even their own siblings would become rivals for living space. In addition, it is common for them to fight when they see each other's treasure troves. It is very rare for many dragons, particularly those who had left the nest, to live together in one place. It would never happen at all without an overwhelmingly powerful Dragon to gather them under its reign. One habit which unites all dragons is the love of precious metals, jewels, magic items and related wealth. So they pillage other civilizations on MBN and are despised by many.

These Artificial Dragons are very weak compared to the True Dragons. They are modified reptiles with many dragon traits added through experimentation. Many Aons pursue in creating a powerful body for themselves, so dragons become their main research topic.

True Dragons are creatures that seem to possess characteristics of reptiles. However the comparison is incorrect, as they possess no characteristic of reptiles other than their appearance, be it from the movements of the eye to their muscular tissue, in every possible way they are different. Of particular importance was their alertness and agility beyond imagination born from a body comprised of thousands of layers of muscular tissue. The motions of a dragon could not be followed by untrained kinetic vision. Their scales which cover the body are harder than steel, and even blades made of ordinary metal would split on impact. Even if the scales are penetrated, the walls of muscle would stop such weapons from wounding a dragon too deeply. Its breath released from its maw can mow down all those that oppose it. But Artificial Dragons lack these.

So an artificial dragon is very weak when compared to a real dragon and can be slain easily by even Lizardmen. However they are still very strong on MBN due to their flight and breath advantage.
