You immediately grab the kid before he could beat his father to death.
Many people converge to the table to help you out. A handful of them go and check over the father, only to find him to be barely conscious.
”Mathew! Oh my gosh! Mathew! Mathew!”
The wife shouts and jerks her husband. A couple of people stop her from doing that since he is in a lot of pain.
His face is bleeding profusely with dozens of glass shards protruding.
He is gasping for air as one shard has pierced his throat.
A person has to apply pressure there to stop the bleeding.
Seeing that state, a lot of people immediately look back at the kid with a horrifying expression. They could not believe what he just did.
As for you, you have a guilty expression on.
Without overwhelming fear to suppress the kid's angers and resentments built-up over the years, he unleashes it all on his father in a violent outburst.
If no one had stopped him, he would have become a murderer.
You nearly made someone a murderer.
You find a seat to get that through your head.
While it is true that all those bottled up emotions will eventually break free, turning him into a psycho years later, it is still your fault for setting off the ticking time-bomb.
You tell yourself to be vigilant. Your power can make people do the extremes.
The stalker takes a seat opposite from you, right after she talks to a handful of people.
She even records their statement with her handheld cassette player, acting very much like a journalist or a detective.
”You did something, didn't you? I know you did. It is the same with that girl.”
You didn't answer her.
As a matter of fact, you try your best to ignore her.
Speaking of Ashley and her boyfriend, they headed out the toilet when the commotion started. Their clothes are in shamble, but no one gives them the strange look.
Ashley and her boyfriend are as horrified as anyone else in the room at the bloody scene.
The ambulance soon arrives to treat the father and the kid as well as the mother and her frightened daughter.
They all went to the hospital nearby before the cops arrival.
”So, you're saying that the kid just went crazy and did that to his father?”
You nod and make sure the cop knows that the father was beating his kid over the head beforehand.
A few people in the restaurant attest to your statement, which is weird.
You assume there would be more.
Everyone saw what happened between the father and the child before the violent confrontation, but they did not mention it.
Some men even try to play it down as it was a gentle slap. They do it all the time to lecture their own children.
Once the cops take everyone's statement and examine the scene, they allow everyone go home.
They will make contact if there is need for further statement – which is unlikely.
You head out of the restaurant long with everyone.
When you are at your car, you realize you didn't pay for the pizza.
Considering that no one did, you decide to go with the flow.
You enter your car and begin driving home.
By the time you reach the highway, you notice you are being tailed.
There is a car that follow you right from the restaurant.
It obviously isn't a cop. There is no need for them to follow you even if they are suspicious. They could just look up where you live and go there directly.
Therefore, it is that stalker again.
Although you couldn't see her face in the car due to nighttime, the attribute and skillset window that hovering around her is a dead giveaway.
You decide to go for a detour around a black neighborhood, seeing if she would follow.
To your amazement, she did.
She is incredibly bold.
Once you saw a few gangbangers walking down the street in a group, chatting away and giving you the look, it is time to leave the area.
A white boy in black neighborhood is asking for trouble.
Violence crimes are still very high during this time of the year.
Back on the highway, you keep an eye out for a motel.
You didn't want to lead your stalker back to your own home or you will never see the last of it.
Once you parked your car, you get out and look at the driveway to see if she pulls into the motel.
She pulls in the motel without hesitation.
She even parks her car right next to you.
”Nice seeing you again. So, do you live around here?”
You roll your eyes and head into the motel and get a room.
The receptionist is a cute lady.
