22 Extermination (1/2)

Kael woke up in the massive hall, in the palace of the high goddess Nebthet.

Before Kael could even process what he gained in the inheritance, everything in the hall suddenly went dark, he felt as if he had fallen directly into the bottom of the abyss.

”Were you successful in inheriting his legacy?”

The massive white throne right in front of him was the only thing visible in the darkness as he heard high goddess Nebthet's voice inside his head.

”I think I was able to gain the legacy” Kael understood that the knowledge that appeared in his brain was the legacy so he calmed down.

”It seems that you truly turned into a Chaos Demon” Nebthet then asked softly, ”What did you see in the memories?”

”….”

Kael did not understand how he was supposed to describe everything that happened to her as they were decades worth of memories, if not centuries as such he described the main events and skimmed through the rest.

After listening to everything Nebthet sighed.

”Can I ask you something?” Kael asked.

Seeing Nebthet nod, Kael asked ”The True Chaos Ancestor was so powerful, so why are the Chaos Demons in hell so weak, after all, they all had his abilities? And why did the devouring abilities of Chaos Demons deteriorate so much?”

Nebthet replied without any hesitation, ”Without the protection of your True Chaos Ancestor, the descendants who choose to stay behind, were hunted down for the cultivation techniques passed down by True Chaos Ancestor along with devouring ability by his enemies and greedy characters but no one other than Chaos Demons could cultivate that cultivation technique”

”But in order to prevent future issues to arise as a result of this hunt they slaughtered any Chaos Demon they could find, as they feared that someone from the remaining Chaos Demons can become as strong as the True Chaos Ancestor”

”Few tried to escape prosecution along with their children by hiding in Hell but their plan was doomed to fail.”

”On their way to Hell, they were surrounded. Seeing their end near, adults choose to act as the meat shield in order to give their children a chance to escape”

”Only a small portion of kids managed to reach Hell safely but their legacy was lost so no one went hunting for them and after thousands of years, Adone a cultivating genius gathered all the Chaos Demons together to establish the Chaos Empire unknown of the hidden danger of such actions by rediscovering some of the devouring abilities of Chaos Demons”

”Adone's creation of Chaos Empire and rediscovery of devouring abilities scared some powerful beings who participated in the extermination of the Chaos Demons thus they used activation of my Soul Devouring Crystal Ball which housed the system as a front to exterminate the remaining Chaos Demons.”

”After all it could be easily activated by someone as long as he / she can resurrect after being slain by it. I did this to make sure that no one other than beings from the Death Race could use the system”

”Who are these enemies? Where they related to the Angels from Heaven” Kael could not control his curiosity after seeing the Chaos Demons in the memories of True Chaos Ancestor and listening to Nebthet's story.

”There are some things that could only be known by those who possess the ability to protect that knowledge.” Nebthet coldly glared at him before continuing: ”When you are strong enough, the system will give you higher authority to access this information along with knowledge about other things as well.”
