33 THE FIGHT BY THE LAKE 1 (1/2)
Life is very simple, strange and abrupt. Unlike in video games, where one can still stand from dozens of injuries just by taking some painkillers, in real life even a shallow wound is painful and deadly, and there is no such thing such as 'fighting spirit' or 'indomitable will' which will extend your breath. Many times people die because of simple reasons, like a wound from an arrow, or a punch to the gut, or even being scratched in the face.

Eastern Lake, Giant Continent.
Screams echoed from the mouths of the soldiers of the Desolate Han tribe as the stones hurled towards them crushed their brethren. The Kamels of the group leaders shrieked in horror and almost collapsed, and only calmed down after getting some smacks over their buttocks.
Madam Yao glanced behind her and shouted.
”Yi, help the first stone throwing group !”
Yi nodded and jumped off her Kamel. She saw the familiar faces in the group, who she had practiced stone throwing with. One of them was squashed underneath a stone, becoming a pulp.
”Formation !”
Yi shouted, and the three stood in a V formation. They each held a string of a rope and ran in a circle, and the rock slowly flew in the air.
”Haaa.....throw !”
With a shout, they simultaneously opened their palms, and the stone launched itself in the air towards the Gu tribe.
”Humph !”
Chief Gun snorted and aimed with his totem. His totem was made of tree branch which had small twists, with a small skull of a bird on the top. Light gathered at its slightly open beak and burst out towards the stone in the air. The stone shattered into small fragments, and deviated from their course.
Tong narrowed his eyes and pointed at the fragments. Red lights were released and bound to them like ropes. Tong pulled and rotated the fragments in a circle around himself, and then threw them again towards the Gu tribe.
”Dodge this, bastard !”
Chief Gun heard Tong's taunts and sweated inside. He could prevent one or two stones, but not so many of them. He jumped from his Kamel and struck the ground with his totem. The ground shattered and a large earth wall rose before him, shielding his soldiers. The stone fragments smashed into the wall and created loud booms. Cracks appeared and the edges of the wall fell apart.
”He's crazy !”
Chief Gun mumbled in fear as he sensed the remaining energy in his totem. He had lost almost fifty percent of the power inside his totem. Usually during a war the chiefs only showed some small fireworks to highlight themselves and avoided expending their totem. After all, losing their totem's power was no different from the end of their tribe.
Chief Fun watched Tong's madness and held his totem up in the air.
”Don't drag us down with you !”
A fireball floated in the air above the totem and became large with each passing second. Tong simply snorted and waved his totem. The air froze and mist started rising in the battlefield. With another wave of his hand, the mist spiraled around the fireball and started cooling it down.
Below this supernatural fight, the mortal giants fought with each other using their fists and kicks, and those riding the Kamels used stone slings to smack their opponent's heads off. The giants had engaged in melee and ranged attacks like stone throwing could not be used.
The Fu and Gu tribe seemed to have allied against the Han tribe, and had caught them in a pincer attack.
”Enough !”
A loud shout boomed throughout the battlefield, and the cold mist killed the large fireball in the air and froze the enemy tribes. The frost pulled the giants from the Fu and Gu tribe from their berserk state and they turned from red to their usual white.
”Kill !”
The group leaders of the Desolate Han shouted to increase their morale and fought with increased vigor. Grunts and screams echoed throughout the shore of the lake, and the pressure on the Han people lessened.
This was the case until three orange berserks joined the fight !
