Chapter 14 - A Murderous Intent Revealed (1/2)

“What do you guys think? Do you think that Mu Feng will win the match in two years?”

“Nah, it’s not possible! His cultivation went down the drain, and on top of that, that all of his Meta-pulses were damaged. On the other hand, Shang Guan Qianzhi had already reached Tong Mai Ninth Sky and will soon be a true Zi Fu level cultivator. Besides, if he trains in the Royal Wudo Academy for a year, it’s certain that Mu Feng will be no match for him!”

“Well, I guess you’re right, haha! If that’s the case, let’s wait two years and see how it turns out! I bet that Mu Feng kneeling down and apologizing in public will be damn hilarious.”

Many people were still discussing about the bet.

After a little over an hour, the recruitment session for this year ended, with a total of more than 200 students being recruited into the Royal Wudo Academy.

Thousands of disciples took the test, but only about 200 of them were successfully recruited. One could see just how many disciples were eliminated.

Those who managed to pass the test were envied by their peers and praised by the adults. Mu Feng looked at the stage with eyes full of reluctance.

He was supposed to be the brightest student this year, but it really was a tragedy. However, Mu Feng bore no regrets, as he had accompanied his father in his last battle. He was neither afraid nor ashamed.

In the meantime, the other Mu disciples looked at Mu Feng with mixed feelings. Maybe it was because of what Mu Kuang had said, but they didn’t make him a laughing stock anymore.

“Brother Feng, don’t pay any attention to what the others say. The world is so large, I don’t believe that we can’t find a cure for your Meta-pulses!”

Mu Kuang consoled him.

“Haha, don’t you worry. I will not be beaten down that easily. Xiao Kuang, just you wait. One day, they’ll regret what they said today!”

Mu Feng said coldly, as looked at Zhao Heng who was still standing at the stage.

“Okay. I have faith in you, Brother Feng.”

“Haha, thank you, my good brother. By the way, are you really going to pull out from the Royal Wudo Academy?”

“Haih, don’t worry. Nothing would change if I enroll again in two years. I’ll enroll with you once again. We’re still young anyway.”

Mu Kuang said without dwelling on the matter. His words were full of faith and trust.

“Alright then. In two years, we brothers will enroll into the Royal Wudo Academy and give them a slap in their faces! Let’s go home.”

During this time, the crowd had gradually started to scatter. Mu Feng and Mu Kuang were about to head home too.

However, a figure was quietly approaching Mu Feng.

All of a sudden, Mu Feng’s hair stood on end and he felt a murderous intent that was directed at him from the crowd.

He had become extra vigilant after he started cultivating the sacred book of Asura.

Swoosh!

At this moment, a beam of white light flashed out as fast as lightning, aimed at Mu Feng’s skull.

“Shit!”

Mu Feng swayed his body slightly to the left and the strike passed right in front of his cheeks, nearly piercing a hole in his skull.

Kachakk!

“Ah…!”

The light pierced the skull of a Mu disciple who was standing in front of him, killing him on the spot.

Surprisingly, the beam of light was actually a sleeve arrow!

“Aaaa… somebody’s dead!”

The people around them started screaming in fear. All of a sudden, a wave of panic swept through the crowd and they started running for their lives.

Swoosh! Swish! Swoosh!

A few more arrows shot out from the crowd once more. Mu Feng shouted angrily and pushed Mu Kuang away. One of the arrows hit his shoulder and he instantly felt a sharp pain.

Mu Feng then crouched down and rolled several meters away to dodge the remaining arrows. He then grabbed hold of the Mu disciple’s corpse and used it as a shield to block the attacks.

Kachakk! Kachakk! Kachakk!

Another three arrows pierced into the corpse.

These attacks were obviously aiming at Mu Feng!

“There’s an assassin!”

A shout rang out from the crowd and some of the soldiers on patrol finally rushed over.

Two figures dashed out from the crowd towards Mu Feng as fast as panthers.

They were two men who were dressed in grey and their faces were covered with black masks.

Both of them pulled out knives that were attached on their waists and stabbed directly towards Mu Feng.

Two beams of Knife Qi cut through the air and the sounds of metal loudly resounded throughout the square.
