Chapter 5 - The Ugliness and Immorality in the Sect (1/2)

“According to the Sect rules since ancient time, anyone who reaches the third level of martial cultivation, no matter what his identity, is eligible to become an outer disciple. This is the rule, but…you’re an exception!”

The grey-gown administrator said slowly. Lin Yun’s face changed slightly, asking in a low voice, “Why am I an exception?”

“Does your martial cultivation improve by practice? Everyone in the Sect knows Su Ziyao gave you numerous elixirs. Cultivation built up by elixirs is too superficial to contribute to the Sect!”

With a sneer, the grey-gown elder said tepidly, “I don’t intend to insult you, but you have to choose anyone from the outer disciples in the hall, and if you can resist ten moves, I shall grant you the identity of outer disciple. Or…”

Pausing for a second, he reproached coldly, “You’d better go back and be a sword slave quietly. Don’t waste Sect’s resources.”

The sudden change made the formerly relaxed climate in the Administration hall turn frosty and intense.

Some felt sorry for Lin Yun for his two years of hard work would be in vain.

Some thought what the grey-gown administrator said was right. There wouldn’t be too much potential in the cultivation built up by elixirs.

However, it was indeed a challenge to resist ten moves against any of the outer disciples.

How could a person who just entered the third level resist ten moves against those having years of martial cultivation?

Lin Yun looked straight into the grey-gown administrator, wondering why he was being hostile to him since they had no former grudges before.

“Take it easy, boy. I’ll take care of you. If you can resist five moves from me, the rest five is spared.”

The voice rang from back. When Lin Yun looked back, he saw Zhou Ping’s false smile from the crowd.

He instantly figured out the reason.

“Gee, wearing a headband huh? You think this can make you no sword slave?”

With a hint of ridicule, Zhou Ping walked over slowly, and other outer disciples quickly stepped aside for him.

Seeing Zhou Ping walking out from the crowd, many came to realize why administrator Yang should try to spite Lin Yun.

It could be confirmed that this Lin Yun was about to be retaliated by Zhou Ping.

By Zhou Ping’s identity, Yang was easily willing to do him this favor.

Though others knew the story, everyone was reluctant bolster up for Lin Yun. Who would ask for troubles just to help a sword slave?

“Senior Yang, would you keep true to what you just said? Can I become an outer disciple if I resist ten moves from brother Zhou?”

Ignoring Zhou Pin’s taunt, Lin Yun turned around and asked the grey-gown administrator.

Surprise flashed by in Yang’s eyes, and he said in a low voice, “Of course I shall keep my words. Why would I turn you down if you can prove yourself?”

Though his words sounded just and fair, Yang actually could not help but sneer at Lin Yun. The sword slave so overestimated himself that he expected himself to beat Zhou Ping who surpassed him by a strong level.

Inside the Administration hall, all outer disciples were quite shocked as they had thought that Lin Yun would definitely pull back facing such a tough one. To their surprise, he decided to take the challenge.

By a bit reflection, the truth came to light as what was happening here. It was a trap set up by Zhou Ping.

He was waiting for Lin Yun to jump into it. Any normal person would choose not to take the challenge because it was nothing but asking for an insult.

What’s more, Zhou Ping was at the forth level of martial cultivation, a strong level higher than Lin Yun.

“Brother Zhou, please.”

Walking to the open ground in front of the Administration hall, Lin Yun said and stretched out his arm as a gesture to suggest outset.

“Well, since you were one of my sword slaves, I will keep my words that you need to resist only five moves from me.”

On the words, Zhou Ping leaned forward, stretched out both arms like wings, and rushed at Lin Yun.

Whizz!

The moment Zhou Ping began to run strong waves of wind were generated. And he dashed right at Lin Yun.

“Pose the body like a bow, arms like wings, spirit like wind; this is Eagle Palm!”

“When an eagle chases after its pray, the main spirit is to build up momentum. By his posture, Zhou Lin maters the spirit quite well. When he takes flight from the ground, it will be incredible.”

“No wonder Zhou Ping dares to spare five moves. His Eagle Palm spirit is good and will reach Final Achievement soon.”

An adept cultivator would show what he got as soon as he moved.

All those present were inner disciples, not handymen from Sword-Washing Chamber, so they could figure out Zhou Ping’s strength at a single glance.

A gust of wind hit over, blowing up Lin Yun’s hair near forehead, and Zhou Ping who was approaching near looked fierce in his steady pace.

Compared with the self-overestimation and carelessness three days ago, he looked like a totally different person.

But for a full preparation, he would surely lose face here.

Lin Yun was not a bit panicked, recalling in his mind the tiger spirit in the painting scroll. The opponent was building up momentum, and so was he.

“He’s done. The sword slave is too stupid to move. Is he waiting to die?”

“Once the power of Eagle Palm is exerted, the fierceness of it will dwarf anyone except those with extraordinary martial cultivation, excellent footwork or swiftness of a rabbit.”

“How can a sword slave know these? By the time Zhou Ping flies to the air, the sword slave will be doomed.”

“He flies!”

Coming into sight was the scene where Zhou Ping, who had been rushing forward to build up momentum, leaned forward, extended his arms, and stepped hard against the ground.

Whoosh!

His body quick like an arrow and gaze sharp as a sword, Zhou Ping set off from the ground and stretched out his arms like an eagle spreading its wings.

With a smirk on his face, Zhou Ping looked a little ruthless, showing out all his cruelty.

Not to mention the humiliation three days ago, Lin Yun himself was Zhou Ping’s big source of elixirs, so he had to stop Lin Yun from becoming an outer disciple by all means.
