Chapter 5 - Story 17-18 (1/2)

【17.]

Recently Xu Chi had been troubled by something that was neither too important nor too trivial.

Thanks to Tangtang’s gifts, Missing You had gathered a little popularity and there was an increase in the number of readers who added it to the reading list, from 30-plus to 50-plus. At the same time, however, there appeared some unsatisfying comments.

Cellphone User 084753: Um… I have read several chapters and feel that the writer did not do well in describing the image of the characters. The description seemed a little unnatural…

This comment was objective after all while the following one was quite annoying.

Unceasing Winds: The writer wrote sad stories only for the sake of making readers feel sad?

Was there any sense? Xu Chi’s Missing You was based on the style of previous campy stories dating back a long time. When other writers did the same thing, the readers would show support and affection, saying:“I like campy stories best! They give me great relief! I will forever stand behind campy stories! In the freezing cold winter, only campy stories can comfort me!” In contrast, Xu Chi’s story had only courted criticism.

Xu thought to himself: “Mean readers’ comments mean little. They can make their comments and I will keep on writing my stories. Everyone has their own ideas. After all, I cannot force others to praise my works.” However, the comment of “only for the sake of making readers feel sad” had truly annoyed him like a fishbone getting stuck in the throat.

Xu liked writing stories. This hobby was not commonly known and his roommates only knew that he was always broadcasting games on the Q website. Xu was after all a boy and the hobby of writing stories on boys’ love would invite a lot of trouble. He entered QQ and found there was no one to complain to. Then he had no choice but to drink cold water in winter to make himself feel better.

Xu thought to himself angrily:“Fine. I will not reason with you since our genders are different, you mean reader. It is common for you to meet ghosts when you walk at night. Similarly, you can meet someone blind in the daytime.”

Shortie’s two diehard fans did not have such a good temper.

Tingting: Only for the sake of making readers feel sad? Your comment is quite funny. Are you serious? You have commented on the fifth chapter and this shows you haven’t finished reading the story yet. Who gives you the right to talk nonsense? Are you already tortured to death by the story? Then I have to tell you the following plot is even more torturing. The jerk Zhou Jin had an affair and made love with another boy. As the mother-like fan of Shen Xing, I haven’t said anything about the story yet. Then how dare you say such words! Have you sent the writer any gifts? If so, you can judge in whichever way you feel like. If not, then just shut up!

The playful girl retorted angrily.

Tangtang’s comment was strikingly different.

Cellphone User 084753: Um… I have read several chapters and feel that the writer did not do well in describing the image of the characters. The description seemed a little unnatural…

Tangtang replied to Cellphone User 084753: Please see an eye doctor.

Tangtang’s comment made Xu burst out laughing. His unhappiness seemed unimportant when the two were trying their best to support him. He thought for a while before opening the chatting box with the editor.

Xu Chi: (Picture)

Xu Chi: Could you please delete all these comments for me?

Editor:(Petting you on the head.jpg)

Editor: Sure.

Then Xu logged off QQ and the web page. He leaned on the chair and drew a deep sigh.

His roommate stuck out the head from the bed and asked:“Darling, what happened this time?”

Xu Chi looked quite serious:“I feel that I have no talent for writing…”

The roommate asked:“What?”

Xu turned around and glanced at his roommate. In the story Missing You, the conflict between the two boys had already reached a climax. Xu was racking his brains every day to better present the psychology of the characters. He scratched at the chair and thought to himself:“How about stopping writing after this story comes to an end?”

The roommate was made uneasy by Xu’s gaze showing the disappointment of a beaten hero. He aptly climbed down from his bed and patted on Xu’s shoulders:“Cutie Chi, how about participating in an activity tonight?”

Xu was left in doubt:“What do you mean by Cutie Chi?”

“That means you are such a cute guy.”

“…”

The roommate asked once again:“Will you go with me?”

“What activity?”

“The activity of making friends with students in the Law Department.”

Xu was at a loss:“Why should we make friends when we are already juniors?”

The roommate sighed and replied:“It is exactly because we are juniors that we need to hold this activity!!!! When you are a senior, you will have no chance to know beautiful girls!!! Your look is… What a pity if you don’t go with me!”

Xu raised his eyebrows and felt strange:“What do I look like?”

“You look like this!” The roommate beat his chest in exaggeration. “Let’s go! I hope that you can accompany me on this occasion! There is no point in staying at the dormitory all the time.”
