Chapter 89 - Final (1) (1/2)

The photobook is fixed?

Hearing the system’s words, Cheng Zhi Chu felt happy at first. He subconsciously wanted to go and find the soul fragments but, in the process of changing, he started to feel a little hesitant. He didn’t know whether or not it was a good time to reseal the fragments into the photobook.

The system had said before that, in order for Bai Yi’s soul to fuse together successfully, these soul fragments cannot have any resistance. They need to make them recognise themselves as being the same person as Bai Yi or something dangerous may happen when they merge.

Right now, he wasn’t sure what their thoughts were like but, at the very least, he knew that Su Ling is very resistant. He couldn’t accept himself being the same person as the person he hated the most and had shown extremely hostility towards Bai Yi on several occasions.

Would it be better if he let them maintain their human form first, take them back to the Bai villa and let them recall the times when they were once ‘Bai Yi’………?

Thinking this, Cheng Zhi Chu’s footsteps stopped. He felt hesitant inside. At this moment, he suddenly heard knocking sounds coming from the door to his room. Not knowing who it was, he opened the door and saw Su Ling standing outside.

The teenager appeared to have also just taken a shower. Wearing a set of dark pyjamas, his skin looked even more pale. His hair that was still a little wet hung loosely past his face and he looked even more handsome.

His eyes stopped on Cheng Zhi Chu. He quietly spoke up: “Can I bother you for a moment?”

“Of course you can. Come in.” Cheng Zhi Chu warmly invited him in and then closed the door behind them.

Su Ling nodded his head slightly and walked in. When he passed, Cheng Zhi Chu felt ashamed. Even though Su Ling was a teenager, he was already a taller than him. He didn’t even want to mention the other soul fragments. On average, they’re about a metre eighty. They’re all a lot taller than him………

Cheng Zhi Chu felt somewhat depressed. He followed Su Ling into the room and the two sat down. While Cheng Zhi Chu was still brewing over how he should guide Su Ling, he heard the latter ask a question.

“Is the photobook fixed?”

“How did you know?” Cheng Zhi Chu was stunned, and he asked with surprise.

“I can feel it.” Su Ling pursed his lips. He said, “I can feel something calling out to me, telling me to go back.”

Oh no. Then does that mean that the others can feel it too? What should he do if they didn’t want to return to the photobook and took this chance to escape?

Cheng Zhi Chu could no longer sit still. At the same time, he asked the system internally: Why didn’t you tell me about this earlier?

【I also didn’t know that there would be such an effect…..]

The system also appeared to be quite surprised: 【It looks like they really poured all their blood, sweat and tears into it when they repaired the book. It’s power has enhanced even more and had become able to attract Bai Yi’s soul fragments……..]

【But this is also a good thing. After you seal Su Ling and the others into the photobook, the photobook will probably automatically collect the remaining fragments by itself. It will help with speeding up the collection rate and it won’t be long until you collect them all.]

Although this is news that he should be feeling excited about, Cheng Zhi Chu was more worried about the possibility of the fragments escaping.

In fact, he wasn’t too worried about Joshua and the others. After all, they are now all human. They don’t have money and don’t have any proof of identity, so they won’t be able to get very far. What he was most worried about was “Winter Branch”. After all, that person is like a ghost and is very difficult to find. As long as he has the intent to hide, it was almost impossible for anyone to find him.

He quickly made a call to Bai Xi Xing. He explained the situation to him and asked him to notify the hotel lobby to make sure these people don’t escape.

Bai Xi Xing naturally agreed. Very quickly, he gave Cheng Zhi Chu feedback. None of the ghosts had left the hotel and, from the looks of the surveillance camera footages, they didn’t even venture out from this floor. Everything was calm.

They are currently on the top-most floor and they also wouldn’t jump out from the window. Cheng Zhi Chu who found out about this information finally felt relieved. He hung up and once again looked over at Su Ling who had been sitting there waiting for him. He smiled embarrassedly at him: “Sorry……..”

Su Ling shook his head. The dark and heavy eyes continued to remain fixated on Cheng Zhi Chu. After a moment of silence, he asked: “To what extent do you like Bai Yi?”

“…………..”

Cheng Zhi Chu’s heart jumped. He didn’t know how he should answer this question. If he answered and said that he liked him, he was worried that Su Ling would hate Bai Yi even more but, if he answered and said that he didn’t like him, he was worried that Su Ling would have some other thoughts. Also, he couldn’t say something that isn’t true.

“It’s okay. You just need to tell me the truth.”

Seemingly noticing his hesitation, Su Ling added that line. At the same time, his fingers closed up into a fist.

He was originally sitting on the sofa. He suddenly walked over to the bed and sat down next to Cheng Zhi Chu. The two men’s hands gently touched.

“………..Although it wasn’t long,” Cheng Zhi Chu spoke up slowly. His expression softened and a smile appeared without himself even noticing, “But I do like him.”

And in the future, I will like him more and more.

When he admitted to his feelings for Bai Yi, Cheng Zhi Chu felt quite embarrassed, but he also didn’t have any intention to hide it. If he likes him, he wanted to proudly admit to it. What’s more, Bai Yi also likes him so there wasn’t a need to hide it.

However, after he finished saying that, he suddenly felt a little awkward. He didn’t know how Su Ling would take it.

He secretly glanced over at the teenager’s expression and saw the young man silently shedding tears from his red rimmed eyes. The tears slowly rolled down his cheeks.

“Su Ling……..”

Cheng Zhi Chu helplessly called out the young teenager’s name. He reached over wipe away his tears, and the teenager conversely pressed down onto the back of his hand.

The teenager allowed him to caress his face. He looked up with his teary eyes and asked hoarsely.

“Will you never come to like me?”

His silent tears made Cheng Zhi Chu’s heart ache. He couldn’t help but reach out to rub his hair. Su Ling however grabbed his arm and pulled him into a tight embrace. With his arms wrapped tightly around his back, he didn’t have any intention to let him break free.
