Chapter 7 - THE HEIST (1/2)

A taxi stops at the entrance of the Central City Police Department.

Barry alights from the taxi and walks into the station.

”Good morning Peter”, Barry waved as he greeted one of the policemen.

”Hey Barry how're ya doing”

Joe is walking along the corridor when he sees Barry come in. He moves close to him and whispers,

” We have something to discuss Barry”

” Alright ”, Barry replied.

IN JOE'S OFFICE

........

” The blast from nine months caused you to have ” super powers ”?” Joe asked in disbelief stressing the word ”super powers”

” Well according to the team at star labs, the wave from the blast created a lightning which struck me. I was also doused in my chemicals. So roughly, the reaction is my superspeed. Kinda sounds like those stories mom used to read me” Barry said.

” *sigh* Hope you haven't tol..... ” Joe was cut short by Barry..

” No Joe, I've not told Iris. It might put her in danger, I know” He explained

” That's a relief then. Carry on with your work then” Joe said

Barry left the office and went up the stairs to his office.

I haven't had enough of time to really get used to this body, time for a change.

He begins to meditate, remembering as much as he could from his previous world.

( Wait a sec, Isn't Iris gonna call me any mome...)

******* PHONE RINGS *******

Barry quickly gets off the chair wearing a knowing smile as he picks up the phone.

” Hello ”

” Hey Barry, how are doing ”, Iris said

” Hi Iris, I'm doing great. Why'd u call? ”, Barry asked.

” I'm going to a gathering honouring Scientist Stagg. And I want you to accompany me. Do you think you can find time for it?”, Iris asked.

”No problem, You're my, huh.... best friend and this is the least I can do”, he replied.

” Great, thank you. Come by at 11”, Iris replied gleefully.

AT 11:12pm

Barry alights from a taxi wearing a T-shirt, jeans and a pair of sneakers.

( I should have just super sped here, the taxi fare is drilling a hole in my pocket)

He walks up to the door of a house and rang the doorbell.
