Chapter 9.1 (1/2)

”You're my mom's type!”

Johann's brow creased. ”What kind of type? Liking me as her son-in-law? What's horrible about that?”

”Stupid! Not that. You're my mom's type. As in, boyfriend material type!”

The laughter he let out was so loud. ”Man, I'm so handsome. s.h.i.+t!”

She hit his arm. ”Can you please be more serious!? Just remember what I said to you, okay? Don't act cute to Mom.”

He folded his arms. Johann was not laughing anymore but his eyes shone with amus.e.m.e.nt. ”Wife, what made you think that I was acting cute in front of your mother? Your husband is naturally good-looking, but this guy here is also courteous!” he pointed to himself. ”I'll impress her, I'll impress her to prove that I'm worthy of being your husband.”

Now, it's her forehead's turn to furrow. ”You don't have to prove anything to my mom. She already knew our real status. I mean, she's aware that I married you for my inheritance.”

”Ay, is that so? Fine, I'll just act cute for your Mom’s - ouch!”

It's because she brutally pinched him on the side. ”I know that my Mom is a s.e.xbomb, but please, don't lead her on.”

Johann had suddenly scratched his head. ”It's just a joke, Wife. And which decent guy would flirt with his wife's mother? Maybe, we're not a real married couple in its true sense but I respect you. Of course, I respect your mom more. Even without you hinting a warning at me, I'll never flirt back to your Mom.” His brows met. ”You think so lowly of me?”

Johann looked offended and guilt stroke Sapphire. She lowered her head. ”Eh, it's because&h.e.l.lip;”

”Because of what?”

She pouted. ”I grew up on it&h.e.l.lip; mostly, men of your age became my mother's boyfriends. Well, I can't blame them for being attracted to my Mom.” Her mother does not look her age and she's too young to have a twenty-seven year old daughter. Her mother is too pretty and has oozing s.e.x appeal.

Johann lifted her chin and looked at her. ”I'm different from them. Okay?”

She moved away her chin. ”You're a boy as well. How are you different?”

”Because I'm handsome.”

She rolled her eyes. ”There are men better-looking than you.”

”That maybe so. But they have no man-hater wife!”

”What?” She didn't get his point.
