Crash *
A bolt of lightning pierced the peaceful night sky of the mausoleum.
”Oh no, there are a lot of reporters outside the police station!” A security officer hurriedly burst into the archives while he was tidying his hat. He had never been so flustered when a rampant criminal assaulted a police force.
Peng Wenyin, who had just returned, was blocked by a crowd of people outside the police station.
Soon, the mountain turned into a wave and surged towards him.
”Captain Peng, according to the information we've received, five people have already died in battle. Why hasn't the police cracked such a vicious case yet?” A reporter quickly asked.
Peng Wenyin hadn't even opened his mouth before another reporter asked, ”If the mass murder of the Wukang Group's upper echelons has a deeper meaning, is it revenge killing, or is someone trying to seize all the properties of Wukang's side food!?”
”In such a short time interval, he has already killed so many people consecutively. If the murderer is this cruel, will it endanger the safety of the common people? Captain Peng, please explain it to everyone!”
”Squadron Leader Peng, your police force has yet to investigate this matter. On behalf of the ordinary citizens of Ling'an, I wish to get to know you …”
Half past eleven
Peng Wenyin stood in his office with his eyes wide open and a livid expression on his face.
He suppressed his anger and said, ”Xiao He, what do you think about this matter!”
Jiang Han put away the half-finished file in his hand and said, ”Do we even need to look? The murderer is deliberately putting pressure on us. He wants to spread this matter and make us, the police, unable to hold our heads up in front of the public.”
Ning Ruonan turned on the TV, and on it was the scene of the police station being broken into. It was just like what Xiao He said before, after tonight, the entire Ling'an City would know about the Wukang serial killer case!
How did he do it!?
Seeing the tired expression on Xiao He's face, Ning Ruonan poured a cup of thick coffee for him.
Xiao He did not refute Jiang Han's words. Instead, he looked at his old-fashioned watch. The time was exactly 11: 41: 22.
”Did any of the colleagues we arranged for Wukang's side send out any news?” Xiao He took out a large black umbrella from his storage room, and asked Ning Ruonan who followed closely behind him.
Ning Ronan knew that Xiao He hadn't rested for the entire day, ”Xiao He, are you alright? Can you hold on? ”Should we go home and rest first?” Xiao He shook his head.
”I'm fine.”
Ye Zichen shook his shoulders. Half an hour ago, it had already rained down on him like a dense fog. The rain got heavier and heavier, driving away more than half of the reporters who were planning to spend the night outside the police station.
”Let's go. Come with me to the Tan family again.” Xiao He had always followed a principle. Whether it was murder or psychology, everything had a source. When we grasped the source, everything would slowly be announced to the public.
Since he couldn't find the murderer, why didn't Shaw mind? He would comb through the entire case from beginning to end, then again and again, then again and again.
Xiao He drove Peng Wenyin's business car. When he arrived at Tan's house, it was already late into the night. There was not a single ray of light in the pitch-black night sky. A gust of wind blew over after the rain, causing people to feel inexplicably cold.
He put on the coat and asked his colleagues who were patrolling around the city 24 hours a day.
”When does Fu Lian usually sleep?”
”Around 12 PM.”
