Chapter 1295 - Giving Birth to a Son (1/2)
At this moment Dongfang Wanqing quickly chided her, admonishing her, “Ruoli, His Majesty and the Empress’s history is none of your business. Stand down immediately.”
“Yes ma’am.”
With that, Dongfang Ruoli hurried away in embarrassment.
“Jiancheng, Ruoli is still young and just wants to protect you, so don’t blame her.” Dongfang Wanqing looked at Murong Jiancheng gently.
Murong Jiancheng remained silent before commenting, “Wanqing, you can stand down as well.”
Dongfang Wanqing froze slightly but recovered quickly and smiled. “Alright, Your Majesty. Don’t forget to dress your wound. I’ll take my leave first.”
Dongfang Wanqing left.
Murong Jiancheng lowered his eyes to look at the divorce papers again. Looking at them made his chest hurt.
Ruoli wasn’t wrong.
Yuewu was overly arrogant and willful. She had snatched him away when she desired him and now that she didn’t love him anymore, she was kicking him to the curb.
He might as well sign this and get it over and done with. He should just divorce her.
It would be the easy thing to do.
But why was it so hard?
When he thought back to the early days of their marriage, his chest throbbed. Back then she had looked at him with those bright eyes, eagerly seeking his attention at every moment. She had pursued him passionately and even though he felt that she was slightly arrogant, her personality was still simple, pure and bright. In the end, she had really managed to ensnare him and made him unable to forget her.
Murong Jiancheng hated her so much he was about to throw up blood. He was constantly tortured by this woman.
He turned around and saw a flash of red.
He hadn’t been paying attention just no but there was a red halter top on his bed.
Rushing forward, he picked it up.
The halter top was still filled with her fragrance. He had seen her clothes before and knew that she had this halter top on earlier.
At this moment, a note fell from the top. There was a line of words in her handwriting, the same handwriting that was on the divorce papers.
It would be a lie to say that her handwriting was good. It slanted about and was really quite ugly. His handwriting on the other hand had been influenced by his royal upbringing and was extremely elegant and beautiful.
The note read – ‘A farewell gift, for you to remember me by.’
Farewell gift?
For him to remember her by?
Murong Jiancheng trembled in anger, about to pass out once again.
…
Outside.
Dongfang Ruoli pouted and said, “Aunt Qing, His Majesty has never been so fierce with me before. But he got angry as soon as I mentioned Bei Yuewu. He is definitely still obsessed with her!”
Dongfang Wanqing’s expression remained gentle even as her tone turned cold and resentful. “That year, His Majesty refused me and Bei Yuewu managed to marry into the Royal Family to become the Empress. In those days, many women pined for him in order to gain his attention and did everything in order to hook him. But he didn’t even spare a glance towards any of them. Yet the moment Bei Yuewu appeared, he fell for her words so easily. In the first few months of their marriage, there’s no way she could’ve forced herself on him if he hadn’t given consent, right?”
Dongfang Ruoli gritted her teeth bitterly. “Bei Yuewu was a vixen. Even us women couldn’t help but blush when we saw her seductive ways, let alone men…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Dongfang Wanqing glared at her coldly.
Dongfang Ruoli changed her words quickly. “His Majesty really is blind. Aunt Qing, you’re the Holy Lady, no one is more pure and flawless. How could he throw you aside for a vixen? Do all men have these tendencies?”
