Lu Yan was overcome with joy. That little lass, she hadn't let him hug her and massage her earlier on. He hadn't even gotten the chance to touch her precious stomach. His son!

He heard some giggling. Lu Yan lifted his head to look and saw that Li Si and the Blood Forces were all laughing at him.

”What are you guys laughing at?”

”General, congratulations on becoming a dad!”

Lu Yan raised his brows. He hadn't heard wrong, she was pregnant. It felt really good to know he had his wife and son. He felt warm inside just thinking about them.

”You're still laughing? Do you want to do a military exercise tomorrow carrying weights?”

”General, please spare us!”

In the jungle.

Lu Yan followed the skid marks as he continued searching. No one knew this jungle better than him, since he frequently combated here. As he followed the trail, he saw the car that had skidded down. There was a blood trail.

Found it.

”General, is it Sister-in-law's mother?”

Lu Yan went in front, seeing Huo Yanmei, who was stuck under the car. She had been severely injured and was almost at her last breath.

”Let's lift up the car.”

”Yes, General.”

The Blood Forces joined forces and lifted the car together.

Lu Yan crouched over, pulling Huo Yanmei out from below the car, but her leg was stuck between the window.

”Can you hang in there?” he asked.

Hearing a voice beside her, Huo Yanmei opened her eyes feebly. She saw Lu Yan's muscular body beside her.

It was him?

She hadn't died yet?

She thought that she was definitely going to die when the car skid down. It hurt so badly and the blood wasn't stopping at all. To be honest, she had lost all hope as she lay there suffering, but finally, someone had come to save her.

But it was Lu Yan.

Why was it him?

Lu Yan tore a piece of fabric from the clothes on his body and tied it around Huo Yanmei's neck, helping to ease the bleeding. ”Your carotid artery has been severed but it's not fatal. You must hang in there.”

He crouched down even lower, squeezing inside the car. There weren't any tools available for him to smash the window. He could only clench his fists, throwing a forceful punch at the window.

No one knew what this man ate while growing up, but he had so much strength. The window had a few cracks after he sent a punch on it. He continued punching the window and Huo Yanmei just watched him do it. His joints were bleeding.

Huo Yanmei scratched at the ground with her fingernails. ”Don't you hate me?”

Why did he save her?

Didn't he hate her?

Lu Yan was focused on cracking open the window, he didn't have much of an expression on his face. ”Why would I hate you? I love An'an and you love An'an too. Isn't it better if there's an extra someone who loves her too?”

He didn't say those superficial words, like loving someone would include loving their family too. This old hag in front of him had once drugged An'an and sent her on some other man's bed before. He would never like her in this lifetime.

But it was a fact that she loved An'an. And An'an needed her mother. Moreover, no mother on earth would willingly hand their daughter to him given his murky past back then.

Huo Yanmei's eyes were red, she suddenly had the urge to cry.

”Oh, An'an is pregnant. You're becoming a grandmother soon.”

Huo Yanmei was stunned. An'an was pregnant?

He continued saying, ”My mother is no longer alive, I don't know much about women's pregnancies. This is An'an's first child, so she's not experienced. You'll have to guide her along during her pregnancy and after she has given birth. Please don't let her suffer.”
