1000 I Want to Teach You a Lesson so Badly (1/2)
Chen Jin let out a chuckle. ”You don't welcome the third wheel?”
Chen Jin glanced at Lu Yan.
An'an was teased by him, her face flushed red. She quickly took out the keys and unlocked the apartment. ”General, please come in. Let me check if there's anything left in the fridge. You wouldn't mind if I just whip up a simple meal right? I'll treat you to a sumptuous meal next time!”
The General had treated her to a meal in the army base's canteen in Country Z, the food there was simply delicious.
”Okay, I'll just have anything that you cook.”
An'an quickly ran into the kitchen and began cooking.
Lu Yan looked at her from behind, furrowing his brows. ”Old man, don't you have any food at home? Why did you come over to disrupt us!”
”…”
Chen Jin patted Lu Yan's shoulder. ”I really couldn't tell that you are so trendy, you're learning from the youngsters and dating now.”
”…”
The pair poked fun at each other before they went to the living room.
…
In the living room.
Lu Yan and Chen Jin sat opposite each other.
Chen Jin took a sip of tea and glanced at Lu Yan. ”Have you ever suspected that I was the one who touched your father's records?”
Lu Yan sneered and a steely glint flashed past his eyes, he was incredibly astute. ”I don't expect the old man to stoop so low.”
Chen Jin laughed. He hadn't misjudged this man. He was calm and astute, having the ability to sift out the truth.
Lu Yan narrowed his eyes. ”Do you have any idea about who was behind it?”
Chen Jin placed the teacup in his hand down. ”I know what you mean, anyone who wants to touch the records must have around the same amount of authority as I do. I know that Qianqian is a prime suspect, but she simply doesn't have the ability to pull this off. It must be a mole around me.”
Chen Jin raised his brows, asking, ”Do you want to catch the mole?”
Lu Yan slumped against the couch, not saying a word. An'an then walked out of the kitchen, placing a plate of sliced fruits on the coffee table. ”There were a few oranges in the fridge. I've sliced them, it should be sweet.”
Lu Yan bent over, picking up a slice of orange and brought it to his lips.
But in the next moment, he stopped.
”What's wrong?” Chen Jin asked.
Lu Yan didn't have any expression on his face. He threw the slice of orange in the bin. ”The orange is spoiled.”
”How is that even possible. Are you bluffing me, let me taste it.” An'an reached over to pick up a slice of orange.
Lu Yan hit her hand lightly, furrowing his brows. ”You're not listening to me? Go and cook now!”
Seeing the fierce expression on his face, An'an pouted her lips but she listened to him and went back to the kitchen.
An'an had left and Chen Jin picked up a slice of orange, placing it underneath his nose to sniff. His expression darkened. ”The orange had been poisoned. Seems like someone can't wait to act.”
Lu Yan touched his jaw with his calloused fingers. ”When I find out who's this mole, I'm going to make sure to make him feel like he's in hell!”
How dare anyone even try to harm An'an. He must ruin this person.
”Now the enemy is hidden away while we're vulnerable. An'an is in danger any moment. Lu Yan, do you have any ideas?”
Lu Yan raised his brows. He definitely had some ideas.
