988 I Will Never Let Go of Your Hand Anymore (1/2)
What would happen to her Ah Yan if she fell unconscious?
Her Ah Yan was a warrior, he had fought alone for far too long. He had helped so many people, giving them the light while he could only stand in the darkness. He could only become a phantom, becoming a legend that no one knew about.
He was so hesitant in front of his own happiness, the nation and her were on each of his hands. He could only place himself last.
If she really fell unconscious, who would be responsible for loving him in the future?
An angel?
An angel could never replace her.
How could she bear to just leave him behind in this world, all by himself?
Her entire body hurt, she was suffering in so much pain that she shuddered, almost feeling numb. But she told herself, An'an, just hold in there for a bit, just for Ah Yan. She had to, she must.
Lu Yan smiled while his tears continued dropping on her face. He wiped them away for her, till her makeup was all smudged and she looked like a kitten.
His voice was husky as he said, ”If we really have a pair of twins, you're responsible for naming them. I'm not as cultured as you, you shall give the babies a good name, hm?
”We're all going to listen to you, no matter how small the matter is, you're going to make all the decisions. The same goes for me, you're going to make all the decisions on my behalf.”
An'an ran her fingers over his chapped lips. ”It's a deal, you can't go back on your promise. I'm going to be the boss of our family from now on.”
Lu Yan nodded, pleased, as the neon lights continued to shine through the car window and onto his face. ”Yes!”
…
At the hospital.
An'an was pushed into the emergency operating theater. Lu Yan wanted to charge in too but the doctor stopped him from doing so. ”Mister, please stay outside.”
Lu Yan instantly tugged on the doctor's elbow.
He was so strong that with just a light tug, the doctor's face blanched because of the pain. Adding on Lu Yan's tall build, it scared the wits out of the doctor. The doctor started stammering, ”Mi-Mister, wh-what are you trying to do?”
Lu Yan glanced at the operating theater's door in front. ”You must save her, you must!”
The doctor went in and the door closed with a loud boom. The red light outside the operating theater was switched on and Lu Yan just stood along the corridor. He slumped against the wall with both hands in his pockets and a knee bent. His fringe covered his brown eyes and he didn't even make a sound at all.
He was waiting.
All he could do was to wait.
The surgery went on for 12 whole hours, the nurses went in and out, bringing in six bags of blood. The sun slowly rose as time passed.
Bam! The door opened, the doctor had been drained of all his energy as he staggered out.
Lu Yan quickly ran forward, his lips were so chapped there was an obvious layer of dead skin on it. ”How is it?”
