832 I Didnt Get Married (1/2)
That naive An'an from the past had died.
Three years ago, she had committed suicide by slashing her wrist.
On that particular day, she had won a dance competition. She was the campus belle of A University and her name was well known amongst the socialites. Everyone predicted that she would have a wonderful future and a beautiful life ahead of her.
But that day, she locked herself in the room and lay down on the soft bed. She suddenly felt that her life had come to an end.
What was the point of living?
A sharp blade slid across her wrist, pulsing against her skin as she tried to kill herself.
The girl's watery eyes revealed utter despondence and hopelessness. Lu Yan was startled. She was only twenty-one years old and in the prime of her youth. He did not understand why she had landed herself in a state of gloom and apathy.
At this moment, An'an sniffed and suppressed the luminous tears in her eyes. She looked at Lu Yan and gave him a slight smile. ”Lu Yan, I guess this day has come.”
This day? What day?
She was smiling as she said to him, ”I wish you happiness. I don't love you anymore.”
Lu Yan startled and his brown eyes became bloodshot. He stared at the girl viciously.
An'an looked at him and moved her red lips. ”Lu Yan, I wish you…”
Lu Yan raised his leg and hurled his prosthetic leg far away. Although he only had his left leg remaining, it was still strong and full of vigor. The prosthetic leg had already been kicked to the street opposite.
This man was still full of vitality despite losing one leg.
An'an's luscious lashes quivered. She closed her mouth and looked at the man. Lu Yan was looking down, and half of his face appeared cold and unyielding.
Those lips of his were tightly pursed into a white line. The way that he had shown his anger made one fearful, but it also made one desire to stroke his handsome face.
An'an did not say a word. Following his outburst she got up and walked towards her own luxury car.
She had left.
Lu Yan raised his handsome face and looked at her. There were many pedestrians and her pretty figure gradually disappeared amongst the crowd before his eyes. He knew without a doubt that this time she was really going to leave.
And she would never be coming back.
Lu Yan felt as if there was a void in his heart. This profound sense of loss nearly drove him insane. He placed one hand on the ground to support himself and stood up gradually.
”Sir, you're injured. Let me take you to the hospital.” At this moment, the driver of the huge truck rushed over and helped Lu Yan up.
Lu Yan pushed the driver away. He was not wearing his prosthetic leg or even holding a walking stick. He moved and jumped ahead.
The void in his trousers, where his amputated leg was supposed to be, was bleeding, but he did not feel any pain. The man jumped forward slowly and his moves were strong and steady.
This man possessed a strength that encompassed the bitterness of having been through the vicissitudes of life, yet compassionate at the same time, and it made one regard him with respect.
He stretched his calloused hands out and pushed the masses of people away. It was then that he saw the pretty figure. An'an's body was hunched and she was preparing to get into the car.
At this moment, a strong arm encircled her svelte waist and the man hugged her from behind. She could hear his light panting and the thumping of his heart. She also heard his hoarse muttering, ”Ha, I can walk to you even with one leg.”
An'an froze. A few seconds later, she struggled and attempted to push him away.
”An'an, I'm not married. I've never been married.”
What did he say?
An'an' icy-cold eyes suddenly narrowed. Did he say that he was not married?
At this moment, the man's heavy body pinned down on her from behind, and his head rested on her smooth shoulders.
