At this moment, a pleasant voice sounded close to his ear. ”Brother Mohan, you're awake?”

Gu Mohan stared at the ceiling for a few seconds and narrowed his eyes. After regaining his composure, he gradually turned and looked at her.

It was Lu Qi'er.

And she was brimming with joy.

The happiness in Gu Mohan's eyes gradually faded. He pressed his thin, pale lips together into a line and he sat up.

”Brother Mohan, let me help you up.” Lu Qi'er offered.

Gu Mohan leaned over and did not let her touch him. Seeing there was was still a drip attached to his hand, he stretched out his hand and removed the catheter before getting off the bed.

”Brother Mohan, where are you going? You're not allowed to go out. Your fever only just subsided. You'll still need to stay in the hospital to be under observation.” Lu Qi'er tugged onto his sleeve.

Gu Mohan stared stone-faced at the hands holding onto his sleeves.

”Let go of me.”

His voice was very hoarse.

The aura exuding from his body was hellish, more than enough to make one shudder. Lu Qi'er retracted her hand in silence and pouted.

Gu Mohan stretched out his long legs which were stronger and firmer than usual. He looked well enough as he placed his hands on the doorknob and opened the door.

Huo Yanmei approached him almost immediately.

”Mohan, you're awake? That's great. I've asked the doctor give you a full-body checkup… where are you going?

Gu Mohan stopped in his tracks. He glared at Huo Yanmei and asked, ”Did Tang Mo'er come?”

His voice was very hoarse.
