274 Daddy, Donst You Miss Qiser? (1/2)
Did that pain cause you to suffer for a lifetime?
Lu Jinwen took a few puffs of the cigarette and frowned, his face impassive and lacking the slightest hint of a reaction. ”Gu Tianling, it's not important whether I'm in pain or not. The important thing is that you were a supporting character 30 years ago, and you are still one today. Nothing has changed.”
”You!” Gu Tianling clenched his fists tightly.
”Daddy.” A sweet voice was heard as Lu Qi'er arrived with Lu Yan and An'an behind her.
Hearing the voices, Huo Yanmei turned around. When she saw the weak figure sheltered behind Lu Yan, her heart wrenched in pain.
”An'an.” Huo Yanmei walked forward.
An'an looked at Huo Yanmei blankly, her eyes blank and emotionless.
Seeing her lack of response, Huo Yanmei suddenly teared up, the twisting regret permeating deep from within her heart. A girl who loved smiling, who loved clinging onto her and following her around, all the while calling her, Mommy, Mommy. To think she had now transformed and behaved like she was autistic.
After she had gone through experienced human trafficking when she was only five, it had left a deep trauma in her heart. Her little girl…
She didn't have good mental health and it had left some deep scars inside.
Lu Yan looked at Huo Yanmei with a poker face, blocking in front of An'an to protect her.
From her position behind his strong back, An'an quietly looked down and her eyes focused on the silhouettes moving on the floor. The lights along the corridor had lengthened her shadow significantly.
Out of the group of them, the happiest person was Lu Qi'er. With a radiant smile on her face, she ran towards Lu Jinwen excitedly. ”Daddy, why didn't you meet me when you've arrived in Karghalik. Didn't you miss Qi'er?”
Lu Jinwen gave Lu Qi'er a cold-eyed stare, stubbing the cigarette in the bin. ”Didn't I send Ah Yan here to accompany you?”
That was different.
Lu Qi'er pouted her red lips unhappily, feeling that her Daddy didn't love her.
Before she turned ten years old, she had grown up in the Lin family home and not the Lu family home in the Capital. It was only after she turned ten years old that she was brought back to the Lu family. It was completely different, this new home was ice-cold, without any warmth and humanity at all.
