252 Searching for the One and Only Ring (1/2)

As Gu Mohan stood beside the bed and observed her neck with his deep and narrow eyes, something was missing. Earlier, he had already felt something amiss when he kissed her, it had taken until now to realize that the One and Only ring was missing from her neck.

”Mo'er, where's the diamond ring that I gave you?”

Diamond ring?

Tang Mo'er blinked, before she clenched her fists tightly and with her eyes narrowed, she glared at him ferociously, satisfied that her chance to take revenge was finally here. ”I threw it away. Who asked for you to gift me with a diamond ring? I threw it into the pond!”

Right after she said that, Gu Mohan's gaze darkened.

When she had thrown the ring away, Tang Mo'er was heartbroken and she was determined to pay him back for what he had done, no matter how much she was suffering. ”Gu Mohan, if I had known that the diamond ring wasn't for a proposal, I wouldn't have accepted it in the first place. There are many men who are willing to send me jewelry and diamonds, I can afford them myself. I don't care for you to give me one!”

Gu Mohan pursed his lips, his tall figure had stiffened in the dark as soon as he heard she had thrown it so recklessly. Standing up again, he kicked the basin that was placed on the chair, leaving the room immediately after.

Bam! The door was slammed shut to express his dissatisfaction.

The room quietened down after he left, and Tang Mo'er lay on the bed like a broken doll. As she stared at the chandelier above her head, she couldn't stop the hot tears falling down her cheeks.

He left.

It would be better now that he had left.

She didn't want to see him ever again.

But why was her heart wrenching in pain?

It was midnight, the sky was pitch black and the rain was still a heavy downpour. There weren't any cars or people on the streets, most likely they were all huddled up in the warmth of their homes. The Rolls-Royce Phantom appeared like a ghost on the empty streets and parked beside the pond.

The car door opened and Gu Mohan alighted.

Without further thought, he walked straight into the pond and bent down, searching for the One and Only ring.

She had thrown it away so easily, but he was determined to find it.

In seconds, the heavy rain instantly drenched him, soaking through his white shirt as he hastily made his way out into the dark water. By now, the shirt was completely damp and it stuck to his muscular chest, with fresh blood seeing through from his left chest area.

Since he hadn't dressed his wound and due to his vigorous movements, the wound had torn open. Very quickly, his entire white shirt was dyed a mottled red.
