225 Gu Mohan, Will I Die? (1/2)

Silky black hair was loosely scattered over Tang Mo'er's shoulders, complementing her glistening skin and he used his rough fingertips to touch her tiny face. ”Yes, you have contracted the love pea poison.”

”Will I die then?”

After hearing her blunt question, Gu Mohan cleared his throat and heedlessly took a puff of the cigarette, before slowly blowing it out into the air. It dissipated and bled into the air, causing a smoky haze. Lowering his eyes, he looked at her with a devilish smirk. ”I have not gotten sick of you yet, let alone, you haven't given birth to my son. How can I bear to see you die?”

After hearing his words, Tang Mo'er felt a pleasant tingle grow from inside and her gaze was warm as it fell on him. The intense activity he had just orchestrated had caused him to sweat profusely and his fringe was wet as it fell in strands across his forehead. The way he carried himself exuded an indescribable masculinity and maturity and with such a calm attitude, he made her feel safe and protected. It was easy to find herself believing his words.

”An'an is your biological sister?”

Gu Mohan raised one eyebrow. ”We have the same mother, but An'an is my half-sister from another father.”

Tang Mo'er went silent as she considered his words. Her eyes were alert and contemplative.

”For as long as I can remember, my parents have always had a cold relationship. There was never any of the love and family warmth they talk about. After my mom gave birth to An'an, An'an was the only ray of light in our house. Back then, she always loved to follow me around and she was a bright and cheerful girl. When An'an turned five, I brought her out to play, and she wanted to have some snacks, so I went to buy her some. But, she disappeared before I even made it back with the snacks.”

Even now, Gu Mohan couldn't hide the guilt in his eyes.

”An'an was kidnapped by human traffickers and she was rescued by Lu Yan. Since then, she wasn't willing to return to the Gu family and I finally found out the truth behind everything. An'an was given to the human traffickers under my father's instructions.”

Tang Mo'er was stunned, she would never have imagined that the Gu's would have such a history. How atrocious! To think someone could do something like that.

She thought about An'an, being born with leukemia. That already made her look fragile and weak. As if that wasn't enough, she had been abandoned to human traffickers when she was a little girl. She had only been five years old. That must have been a traumatic experience for her, especially when she was still so young.

Tang Mo'er buried her delicate face into his muscular thighs and spoke seriously, ”Gu Mohan, that wasn't your fault.”

It wasn't his fault that An'an had gotten lost, it also wasn't his fault that An'an had to go through such a traumatic experience.
