As Lu Yeming watched Mu Yanfeng hugging Jun Xiqing, aloof eyes also saw that she had reached out one fair little hand to gently pat him on the back, as if comforting him.

The sight made Lu Yeming’s eyes turn deadly, like two tiny abysses fixed firmly upon that man and woman hugging.

“Young Master Mu, Sister Jun, you are both out shopping too! What a coincidence.” Mu Yanyan smiled happily.

When she heard the unexpected voice, Jun Xiqing gently pushed Mu Yanfeng away and turned to look, only to meet Lu Yeming’s malevolent eyes. He was staring at them as if he had just caught them cheating.

A gracious smile appeared on her face. “Hello President Lu, Miss Mu.”

“Sister Jun, it will be Brother Yeming’s mother’s birthday party in two days’ time. So Brother Yeming is accompanying me to shop for a dress.”

As she said this, Mu Yanyan gazed at the man beside her. Her bashfulness was laced with happiness, as sweet as a young girl in the throes of her first love.

Brother Yeming…?

Jun Xiqing raised her eyebrows. In just two days, this Mu Yanyan had progressed from ‘President Lu’ to ‘Brother Yeming’. It seemed things were going well for her.

“Qingqing, aren’t you also buying something? We should go and get it.” Mu Yanfeng spoke up warmly.

Jun Xiqing nodded. “Alright. President Lu, Miss Mu, excuse us.” The pair then walked into a shop together.

Why was she so different? Lu Yeming looked at Jun Xiqing’s departing profile. She was all smiles when talking to Mu Yanfeng, her expression soft and gentle. But whenever she was talking to him, she was stiffly polite, remote and cold, behaving as if she couldn’t wait to get away from him.

Lu Yeming pressed his lips into a straight line. He suddenly felt out of breath, and was not sure whether it was because his wound was hurting him or because his heart felt constricted.

Inside the shop, Jun Xiqing glanced sideways at Mu Yanfeng. Her gaze was frank and direct. “Young Master Mu, thank you for being so good to me. But I probably can’t give you what you want.”

Mu Yanfeng gave a small smile. “Qingqing, can you not be so honest all the time?”

“Young Master Mu, I treat you as my friend, so I don’t want to take advantage of you.”

“Qingqing, tell me honestly. Are you going to wait for Lu Yeming the rest of your life? Are you never going to accept another man?”

“Of course not. It’s already over between the two of us.”

“Then it’s fine. Qingqing, you have the right to reject me, but I also have the right to woo you.”

Jun Xiqing was speechless. All she could do was to give a wan smile. Alright, she was a single girl and she could just enjoy being wooed by her admirers. Moreover, Young Master Mu was really very good to her.

“Hello Miss, this dress is one of the latest designs by our master designer. It is extremely charming and suits your style. You can try it on in the dressing room.”

“Sure.”

Jun Xiqing carried the gown into the dressing room.

10 minutes later, she came out.

Mu Yanfeng was sitting on the sofa reading a magazine. Hearing a noise, he immediately lifted his eyes.

Damn. He was greeted by a breathtaking sight and was completely unable to tear his eyes away.
