I continue to write until my withered hand can't take it anymore. For the last 24 years of our reign, everything and everyone has been safe and they will still be. Even when the day comes. Once done, I tuck it inside my safe place where the rest of my letters lie.

”Hey, are you ready?” I lock my safe place and whirl around to find my wife standing in the doorway. ”They are waiting for us in the conference room.” She walks to me and kisses me softly. I smile at her and grasp her hand.

”Yes, I am. I'm ready.”
