18 Fifteen (2/2)

”Put it down,” he said to the lady at the door. He untangled her legs gently from his waist and put her down on her jelly legs. He held her till her breathing was steady and kissed her forehead.

”Food” his mate shouted, jumping and clapping her hands up and down in a happy mood.

She ran to him and collected it from him before devouring it like a starved lion. He watched her as she was eating with all her hands, she had designed all her face with Nutella. When she was done she licked her hands cleaned and burped loudly before giggling out and yawned.

”Mate is cute, she's the best thing” Ryl smiled.

He took his handkerchief to clean her face while she wrinkled her nose and pouted.

Her eyes do bed a little as she stifled a yawn, ”sing me a song” she said tiredly while he chuckled at her cuteness. It warmed his cold heart.

He started humming a song his mother used to lure him to sleep when he was young.

”My mother used to say that everything do happens for a reason” she slurred slowly while he continued to hum.

”There's a reason why I was born, there's a reason why I am here and my reason for being here is too...” and she stopped rambling, she had slept.

He stood and tucked her under the duvet before kissing her. He stared at her for a moment before he went out to find the culprit who was behind his mate distress.

He arrived at his office with lightning speed and took out the paper he put in his pocket.

He unfolded it to read what she had dreamed of but found that everything had disappeared.

The paper was blank.
