Chapter 37 - Wan Jias welcome gift (1/2)

”This is Su Ling, your new colleague.” Mo Zilian introduced her friend proudly. Su Ling smiled and the other employees except Wan Jia faked smiles. Why would she smile if she didn't want to? She didn't want to grace a schemer with the opportunity to see her beautiful smile.

”While she looks extremely cute, Su Ling is much better than designing than other newcomers.” Everyone knew what she meant by 'other newcomers' After all, she had been so much against Wan Jia right from the first day and deliberately made things difficult for her.

They looked at Su Ling. Extremely cute? She was just another face reeking of too much cosmetic surgery and thick make up to cover up for the flaws. They had been with Wanjia for three weeks and could hardly take their eyes off her. She also had a good temper and although she was always busy even at lunch hour and rarely talked to them, they knew clearly that it was out of the urgency of her work and not arrogance. This Su Ling seemed to be just like their vice president.

Everyone knew Mo Zilian became the vice president only after literally begging her father and she actually had no skills in her job. Her job was always done behind the scenes by people hired by her father and the VP post was just but a name. All the employees had significantly more work to do thanks to their vice president who only knew to put on airs in the company and walk around in every department to hire and fire people as she pleased.

Everyone lit a candle for the CEO in their hearts. His hard work would very soon go to waste in the hands of this useless daughter of his. The design department instantly disliked this Su Ling. After all, birds of a feather flock together. A friend of such a useless person would also be just as useless.

”Let Su Ling show you her drafts.” The woman took out a file and gave it to be passed around. It received nods of satisfaction from everyone. Finally it got to Wan Jia. These were the drafts from her missing file! She had only transferred them into another one.

”Is there something wrong, Wan Jia?” Mo Zilian asked mockingly.

”Of course not! Miss Su's is quite talented. Why would there be a problem. Unless these designs don't belong to her?” Wan Jia mocked back.

”You! What nonsense are you spewing?” Mo Zilian instantly exploded.

From the short exchange and the knowledge that Mo Zilian always lost her temper if someone uncovered her schemes, they could roughly guess what was happening. This deepened their disgust towards Su Ling even further.

Mo Zilian swallowed her anger. She would deal with Wan Jia very soon.

”You have all seen what Su Ling can do. Therefore the company has decided in the last minute to nominate her for the Golden Rookie Awards.”
