That’s right, Shen Qianqian had said she would bring a friend to see him today.
“Dad, let me introduce him to you, this is Lin Chuan, my good friend,” Shen Qianqian said as she and Lin Chuan approached Shen Jianhua.
Lin Chuan nodded as a greeting, very politely, “Hello, Uncle Shen.”
“Lin, hello.”
Shen Jianhua’s voice was robust as he reached out and shook hands with Lin Chuan.
“Dad, are you still worried about the steel factory?” Shen Qianqian saw Shen Jianhua’s furrowed brow, his waxy complexion lacking in luster, and couldn’t help but feel distressed.
“Ah…”
Shen Jianhua let out a light sigh and forced a smile, “The matter of the steel factory is not something I can control; I can only do my best to fight for it.”
“It will get better.” Shen Qianqian pursed her lips, offering reassurance.
“Let’s talk about your matters instead.”
Shen Jianhua chuckled dryly, changing the subject to Shen Qianqian and Lin Chuan’s business.
“Okay then.”
Shen Qianqian opened her briefcase and took out two stacks of documents, handing them to Shen Jianhua.
Shen Jianhua took the documents, flipping through them as he asked, “You’ve been interested in guns since you were little, what kind of gun did you design for the competition?”
“Designed a ‘modular’ rifle,” Shen Qianqian replied with a light laugh, pointing to the preliminary drawings on the documents.
Shen Jianhua’s gaze landed on the drawings.
An image of a rifle appeared before his eyes.
The rifle had a smooth overall silhouette, with a moderate length, a straight and slender barrel, and a black spine-like rail straddling the entire top of the gun.
The drawings were labeled with ‘Picatinny Rail.’
Below the gun body, there were explanations for the telescopic stock, grip, magazine, and other features, showing Shen Qianqian’s attention to detail.
“Your rifle looks very good.”
Shen Jianhua commented while examining it, glancing at Shen Qianqian, appreciation and pride flashing in his eyes.
He was a retired soldier who had later joined the steel factory after his military service.
Though it had been many years since he had handled a gun, he still had authority when it came to firearms and weapons.
“Getting praise from an old soldier like you, I should be stable in the preliminary round.” Shen Qianqian’s face lit up with a shallow smile, like a newly blossomed peony, delicate and bright.
“But this doesn’t seem like your level of work.”
A father knows his daughter best, Shen Jianhua flipped through the documents, carefully examining the drawings, and came to this conclusion.
“You have so little faith in your daughter!”
Shen Qianqian pouted slightly, arms crossed, her face wearing a bit of playfulness, and some dissatisfaction.
“Aren’t I well aware of your capabilities, or did you refer to someone else’s materials?” Shen Jianhua looked at his daughter with a smile on his face.
