In the blink of an eye, December 20th had arrived.

The morning sky was subdued, hazily shrouded, with a thin mist hanging over the vast river like a layer of light gauze. A number of ships were moored along the shore, and the trees on the distant mountains were a mix of yellow and green, tinged with a touch of winter’s charm, delicate and graceful, evoking the feel of an ink painting.

The streets were already bustling.

Lin Chuan and the Little Landlady, accompanied by lawyer Wu Zheng, rushed toward Anling City Court during the morning rush hour.

Today was the day of the trial.

The case where Sania Weapons Research Company sued Lin Chuan for infringement, demanding compensation of three million, had caused quite a stir recently, and Wang Zikai, Xue Qiqi, Youyou, and other friends were all deeply concerned.

However, Lin Chuan was carefree, sitting in the car with a faint smile on his face, occasionally comforting Wu Zheng, the lawyer who had graduated not long ago.

“Brother, our opponent is a very famous lawyer, and I’m a bit nervous,” Wu Zheng, with hair combed into an adult’s appearance and a face still showing youthful innocence, said with a hint of anxiety.

Lin Chuan chuckled, “Don’t worry, in the face of ironclad evidence, it doesn’t matter who comes!”

Wu Zheng clutched his briefcase, took a deep breath, and silently pumped himself up!

Shen Qianqian and Xia Qingqing were already waiting in the courthouse for Lin Chuan.

To Lin Chuan’s surprise, Police Chief Zhang Biao was also waiting at the entrance. As Lin stepped out of the car, Zhang approached and said, “Lin, quite the impressive spectacle here.”

It was a teasing tone.

As an old slicker, Lin Chuan knew that Zhang Biao was trying to use this banter to ease any tension, but he wasn’t nervous and replied with a grin, “I didn’t expect such a small matter to rouse Director Zhang.”

“A small matter?”

Wearing a white shirt with an official coat over it, Zhang raised an eyebrow and laughingly said, “Originally, Elder Zhong was going to come as well.”

“Elder Zhong?” Lin Chuan was slightly startled; the uproar over this matter had indeed been big.

“He had some urgent matters to attend to at the last minute, so he couldn’t make it,” Zhang Biao explained to Lin Chuan, “Are you confident about this lawsuit?”

Lin Chuan smiled, glanced around – the media reporters were blocked outside and the surrounding area was filled with supporters – and said with confidence, “Almost certain.”

“I’m relieved to hear that.”

Zhang Biao laughed heartily, pulling Lin Chuan into the courthouse and whispering, “You don’t know, but Qianqian and Qingqing, these two young ladies, have been keeping me updated. They said once the trial is over, they’ll go after that organization, claiming that ‘the Tiger’ won’t be taken for a sick cat any longer!”

Lin Chuan glanced at Shen Qianqian and Xia Qingqing.

Both were in police uniforms, with Shen Qianqian wearing a trace of proud coquettishness on her face, while Xia Qingqing winked at Lin Chuan, her eyes rippling with a touch of smiling intent.

Lin Chuan returned the look, as if to say, “Appreciate it, when the trial is over, we’ll draw our swords. They won’t be spared!”

This fell in line with Lin Chuan’s expectations.
