Chapter 24

Military training was always very boring. There were no encounters with beautiful seniors or accidental meetings with charming female teachers. They didn’t even get many opportunities to talk to the female students in their class. Fortunately, they finally made it through the first week.

Today, there was an important event in Public Administration Class 2 – it was the day they were electing the class president.

The meeting was facilitated by Professor Guo.

“Students, after a week of getting to know each other, you should now have a better understanding of your classmates. Those who are interested in serving the class, please take the initiative to speak. It is time for your classmates to cast their votes.”

Everyone looked at each other. The girls focused on Hu Linyu while the boys looked at Chen Hansheng.

Guo Shaoqiang didn’t want Hu Linyu to become the class president, so he kept urging Chen Hansheng, “Hansheng, hurry up and get up there. We’ll have a good life if you become the class president. If we let a chick be the boss, how the f*ck am I going to ditch class in the future?!”

But Chen Hansheng was not in a hurry. He smiled slightly and said, “Ladies first.”

Jin Yangming pursed his lips. Chen Hansheng was better at showing off than he was.

‘B*tch!’ Jin Yangming cursed internally. Ever since Chen Hansheng started poker nights with the boys in class, not many people cared about him and his cell phone anymore.

However, Jin Yangming still supported Chen Hansheng when it came to the selection of the class president. It was good for the boys to have him as the class president. With that in mind, Jin Yangming decided not to make things difficult for him.

Suddenly, the scraping of a wooden bench against the hard floor echoed throughout the classroom.

Hu Linyu had been waiting for Hansheng to make the first move. But Guo Zhongyun was starting to frown and Chen Hansheng was still leaning back in his seat looking indifferent.

Thus, Hu Linyu decided that she should not wait any longer. She was worried that Guo Zhongyun would be unhappy and decide that no one would be the class president.

Chen Hansheng, on the other hand, was not too bothered. Even if the class president was not determined today, he would definitely not be the first to go up.

“Hello, everyone. My name is Hu Linyu. I believe everyone already knows me with some level of familiarity because I was the one who helped everyone to register.”

Hu Linyu went on stage and used September 1 to help others remember her. It wasn’t a bad strategy because everyone had a deep impression of Hu Linyu at that time. Next, she elaborated on her efforts during military training and expressed her hope for the future of the class.

“I am enthusiastic, cheerful, caring, and always put my classmates first. If I become the class president, I will definitely use my vigorous energy and clear mind to be Professor Guo’s righthand man and serve my classmates with dedication. I will do my best to create a beautiful future for Public Administration Class 2.

“Thank you, everyone!”

After Hu Linyu finished speaking, she bowed to Guo Zhongyun amidst the applause.

Guo Zhongyun said, “Thank you, Hu Linyu, for your wonderful speech. I still remember when you helped me with sign-ups. I hope everyone can learn from her spirit. Who else is willing to give a speech on stage?”

Hu Linyu returned to her seat, still trembling nervously from her speech earlier. Shen Youchu, patted Hu Linyu’s back gently to comfort her in silence as she sat next to her.

Hu Linyu forced a smile. Then, there came another scraping of a bench against the hard floor. Hu Linyu instantly stiffened. From the corner of her eye, she could see a tall figure walking towards the podium.

Shen Youchu lowered her head again as she stole glances at this ruffian-like male student. When he smiled, his eyes looked wild and unruly, which made her a little afraid.

When Chen Hansheng ascended the stage, the boys were immediately engaged as they gave him their full attention. Yang Shichao even whistled a few times like a ruffian.

“I hope the male students can be more reserved. I’m not a beauty.”

Chen Hansheng smiled and pressed his hands together.

The male students cheered even more.
