Chapter 27 (1/2)
Chapter 27
Actually, it was not difficult at all to arrange for Hu Linyu to become the secretary. A class always had a class president and secretary. Although Hu Linyu lost to Chen Hansheng during the vote, it was undeniable that she still had quite a good following from the students.
Thus, if Chen Hansheng proposed to Guo Zhongyun to let Hu Linyu be the secretary, Professor Guo would definitely agree. There wasn’t even a need to hold a class meeting to vote.
Just as the duo was finalizing the deal, Shen Youchu didn’t want Chen Hansheng feeding her anymore. Thus, she ‘obediently’ ate a few prawns, then put her chopsticks down uneasily. “I’m… I’m full.”
Chen Hansheng nodded. He just wanted her to better nourish her body. For now, he could only start with fish and prawns. Other meat was too oily, and Shen Youchu’s stomach might not be able to handle it.
Hu Linyu had initially been prepared to take full advantage of Chen Hansheng’s treat to dinner. But now that they had talked business, she unexpectedly lost her appetite. In the end, she still could not resist the temptation of going after her civil servant career. But she seriously warned him, “Chen Hansheng, you’d better not be lying to me.”
“How is that possible? I have always been sincere to you,” said Chen Hansheng with a smile.
Hu Linyu did not want to continue being in the same space with such a shameless hooligan. She pulled Shen Youchu up and quickly left, leaving behind a sumptuous table of food.
If Hu Linyu adopted a bit of the so-called ‘hooligan’ spirit, she would always be able to place herself in advantageous positions.
Chen Hansheng was in a good mood tonight. He bought another two bottles of beer and leisurely finished all the meat on the table. It was already eight o’clock at night by the time he walked out of the cafeteria.
The summer night on campus was still very lively. Many senior female students were walking around campus in hot pants. When he walked past the artificial lake on campus, he noticed a few pairs of shadowy figures in the bushes. He suddenly had an urge to tease them as he spat out his toothpick and shouted, “The inspection teacher is here. Run quickly.”
Chen Hansheng laughed as he watched a few couples of disheveled figures scurry off before he continued his stroll under the gentle moonlight.
…
When he got back to the dorm, Chen Hansheng found a gathering of boys and a few people were arguing.
Guo Shaoqiang and Zhu Chenglong were at the center of the fight. When Guo Shaoqiang saw Chen Hansheng return, the former quickly pulled the latter over and said, “Hansheng, please be the judge. That fool Zhu Chenglong insisted that Bai Yongshan’s score is higher than Shang Yanyan’s, but I think Shang Yanyan still won by 0.73 points based on her figure, temperament, and appearance.”
Zhu Chenglong did not give in either as he said, “Shang Yanyan is indeed beautiful, but Bai Yongshan is the definition of cuteness. How could her score be lower than Shang Yanyan’s?!”
“My foot! My scoring system is based on scientific evidence. It can’t be changed just because you want it to.”
“F*ck off! What scientific evidence? It’s just something you made up.”
The two quarreled until their faces turned red and each side had its supporters. In the end, they still insisted that Chen Hansheng give a fair judgment.
“Cuteness and beauty are worthless if you consider sexiness.”
And with that, he parted the crowds and went to clean himself up in the bathroom.
When Chen Hansheng came out from the shower, they had already given up arguing about which girl had the highest score. Instead, they gathered to play a serious card game of Tractor.
The next morning was another day of boring military training. This kind of day-to-day life finally ended a week later. The freshman officially graduated from military training after walking twenty kilometers. This also marked the beginning of their real university life.
Chen Hansheng did not go back on his word. As expected, Hu Linyu was given the position of secretary.
Hu Linyu thought that perhaps she should thank him, but she changed her mind and simply took charge of the daily affairs of the class quietly.
