“He controls all of A City’s financial resources and commercial driving forces, and he rarely shows up in front of the media too. I saw him at a business administration summit a few months ago. He really does look like Zuo Hancheng…

“No way Anhao would provoke such a person.”

The third uncle looked at Madam Gu, who looked solemn as she had already sensed an anomaly in the situation, and immediately frowned.

“Sister-in-law, whether Anhao has something to do with this person or not, we must definitely not offend this Mr. Zuo. If we were to offend him, then it would be even harder for the Gu family to obtain high political achievements in A City for the next few years.”

They were standing a bit far away from the front door and were muttering indistinctly, Anhao did not care about what they were talking about.

She merely stared at the man who came out of the room. He looked at her instantly after calmly looking at those people in front of the door. “You’re Mayor Gu’s daughter?”

Anhao’s face tightened. Since five years ago, everyone had been envious that she was the mayor’s daughter. But for her, she knew exactly how shameful this identity was.

Therefore, she glared at the man, instinctively feeling that the man was mocking her. “It does not matter whether it is true or not.”

“Since you’re suffering so much from being in this family, you wanna pull yourself out from it?” the man said in a placid yet pleasant voice.

Upon hearing those words, she had intended to leave that place from the beginning as that was never her home. As for those people whispering indistinctly behind her, she had always been an outsider to the family.

As such, she looked up at the man in front of her like she was being possessed. “Of course I want to.”

After saying these five words, Anhao came to her senses and realized that it was something that had nothing to do with him.

Slightly raising his eyebrows, Zuo Hancheng gently looked at her. “And how do you plan to do so?”

Anhao thought that the man was merely comforting just because she looked pitiful so she did not think much of it. She shrugged and said helplessly without hesitation, “Any method is fine, as long as I don’t make myself look too bad.”

“Good girl.”

No one expected the man in front to stretch out his hand all of a sudden and touch her head. Then, he directly pulled Anhao into his arms when she was not paying attention.

When she collided staggeringly into his arms unguarded, Anhao’s body stiffened for a moment. She sensed that the powerful five fingertips of his hand, placed behind her back, were pressing her onto his body.

Above her head, the man spoke with a voice that everyone in the room could hear, “Since all of you are Anhao’s family members, then I’ll personally spill the beans here. I had planned to propose to her when she reaches twenty years old. If you all disagree, I can make adjustments to that. I can get married to her today itself, as my responsibility toward her.”

The faces of both the uncles of the Gu family suddenly turned pale.

Madam Gu frowned inconspicuously too.

‘How could such a famous person be involved with Gu Anhao. I originally arranged this trap to kick Anhao out of the Gu family. Instead, it became an embrace from Zuo Hancheng.’

She had also heard of this Zuo Hancheng before. Not only did he have power over the famous noblemen of A City, but he was also the business weight of the central coastal area in the entire province, let alone A City itself.
