“Are you afraid of me?” The man’s voice was light, but his imposing manner was overwhelming so there was no way she could take him lightly.

“…I’m not.” When did she say she was afraid of him?

“Do you feel inferior?”

“Of course not!”

She raised her eyes and glared at him. Even if he was the most prestigious lord, it did not concern her. Why would she need to feel inferior just because the other party was high up there?

Hearing her answer, Zuo Hancheng seemed satisfied. His thin lips curled up into a small, handsome smile, but the voice coming out from his mouth was warm yet cool at the same time. She could not tell what he was thinking about. “Then, stay obediently in the hospital and nurse yourself back to health. Stop talking nonsense.”

Anhao blinked blankly. She felt a little dissatisfied, but after thinking about it carefully, he was right.

She was not afraid of him and was not concerned about whether she was a good match for him or not. They were already married. What was there to be sensitive about?

And so, she pursed her lips and pointed toward the door. “Then, can I be discharged? I’m so bored in the hospital…”

Zuo Hancheng gave her an emotionless stare. His answer was clear.

Guess not!

Anhao pulled up the blanket and turned around grumpily while ignoring him.

However, even though Zuo Hancheng did not allow her to be discharged from the hospital, he still showed her mercy. After the rashes finally appeared on her, he had Mobai register for another sim card for her.

She once again turned on her new phone. There were a bunch of missed calls on her phone. After looking through her mailbox for a while, she ignored Yi Zeyang’s missed call on purpose, went straight to Chunchun’s name and called her.

An hour later, Chunchun and Huang Amao came to visit her in the hospital and brought two large bags of junk food just as she asked for. When Anhao saw the bags of junk food, she felt even more excited about it than seeing her very own mother.

The three girls chattered about the things happening in school. Anhao then found out that something had happened to the Xu family. The two sons of the Xu family dropped out of school. It seemed that the Xu family had offended someone and they could not stay in A City anymore. They had been packing up for the past few days, ready to leave soon.

Anhao crunched on the chips in her hands as she merely listened to the two of them talk while she remained silent.

She was able to guess that it was related to Zuo Hancheng.

“This is strange! I heard it’s really hard to book a ward in this private hospital. Did your dad have a change of heart? Is he starting to treat you like a real daughter?” Chunchun questioned curiously.

Anhao coughed. The two of them had been great friends of hers for years now. They knew almost everything about her situation in the Gu family. Logically speaking, she did not have to hide from them but she really did not know how to explain the whole thing.

Suddenly, the door swung open. The doctor was holding an examination report as he said respectfully to the figure that came in right after him, “Mr. Zuo, Ms. Gu’s blood test result shows that everything is almost back to normal, if everything goes smoothly, she could be discharged in a few more days.”

Just as the doctor finished speaking, he then realized there were two other young ladies in the room. He was stunned for a moment and looked back at Zuo Hancheng who had entered through the door, “Mr. Zuo, this…”
