It seemed as though Zuo Hancheng felt that it was unnecessary to renovate the other rooms and bathrooms on the second floor.

A short while later, Zuo Hancheng came out of the bathroom. As expected, there was a cool feeling and atmosphere around him as he stepped out of the bathroom. Anhao did not go close to him because she did not want to tease him anymore. She simply stood at the other end of the living room as she tried to avoid making any eye contact with him.

After walking out of the bathroom, Zuo Hancheng glanced at her before asking, “So, who called you just now?”

“The tutor that you asked Mobai to arrange for me. Initially, we were supposed to make an appointment to meet up today but I forgot to contact him. That is why he called to make an appointment with me.”

Zuo Hancheng observed the expression on her face and this time, he was certain that she was not lying. Therefore, he turned around before walking toward the closet to change into a new set of clothes. However, as he walked past the sofa, the cell phone that was placed on the coffee table caught his eye.

“Please change your ringtone as soon as possible.”

Anhao already knew that Zuo Hancheng did not like her strange ringtone but it seemed as though Zuo Hancheng was in a better mood after taking a cold shower.

However, she knew better than to offend him. Therefore, she smiled before she replied, “Um, okay. I will change it later.”

It was a rare occasion for Gu Anhao to actually be so obedient. Therefore, Zuo Hancheng could not help but turn around to look at her as he asked, “What are you up to this time?”

Anhao laughed out loud as she figured that there was really no way that she could hide anything from him. Therefore, she pointed a finger upstairs before she asked, “Can I get someone to finish renovating the other rooms and bathrooms on the second floor?”

If she continued sharing the same bed in the same bedroom as Zuo Hancheng, she would definitely be eaten by him sooner or later!

She had to save herself. She should not continue living in the lion’s den.

When Zuo Hancheng saw the hopeful expression on Gu Anhao’s face, he could see through all of her thoughts. However, since she only had one more month before her final examination, Zuo Hancheng did not turn down her request as he simply replied, “Do whatever you want to.”

After that, he turned around before changing into a new set of clothes. Anhao secretly put up a peace sign as she celebrated her small victory. She smiled to herself as she walked up the second floor to plan the structure and layout of her future bedroom.

On Monday, Gu Anhao’s face was better after two days of recuperation. Even though the swelling had already subsided, anyone could tell that her face was still slightly swollen and red if they looked closely.

Since Zuo Hancheng had already thrown away all the cosmetics in her bag, Anhao could only rush back to her dormitory to borrow some foundation and lipstick from her roommates. Anhao quickly put some foundation on her face to reduce the redness on her cheek before applying some lipstick.

Chunchun could not help but ask what exactly happened to her cheek. Anhao did not mention anything about Yi Zeyang, only mentioning that Mrs. Gu hit her a few days ago.

Chunchun and Huang Amao were so furious and they stepped out of the dormitory in anger to seek revenge for Anhao but she dragged the both of them back into the dormitory.

“That was how I have been living in the Gu family for the past few years anyway. Currently, my life is already much better compared to the past. I was just unfortunate to run into the mother and daughter the other night. Otherwise, I would not have gotten slapped by her.”

“How can you endure this kind of treatment from them?” Chunchun asked as she was not convinced at all. She could not bear to see Anhao in distress.

“Who would want to endure it? However, I have no choice but to endure it. After all, Mrs. Gu and Gu Shishi are related biologically and they are Gu Tianming’s real and legal family members. If I lift even one finger and touch them with it, I will be dead within a few seconds.”
