Chapter 1118 - Chapter 1118: Riding the Wind and Asking the Moon (203) (2/2)

It was not far from the villa. It was only a ten-minute drive.

When the car stopped in front of the villa, Zuo Yue stayed in the car for a moment without moving. The driver asked her softly if there was anything else. Zuo Yue came back to her senses and shook her head gently before turning around and getting out of the car.

She looked up at the villa that she hadn’t come back to see for three years. The past that she had deliberately forgotten three years ago reappeared in front of her little by little. She looked at the time and walked in. When she reached the door of the villa, she raised her hand and was about to press the doorbell when she suddenly thought of the gold-plated card that Ainte had given her.

So the door code of this villa had not been changed until now?

She raised her hand and paused for a moment before trying to press the password lock. It was drizzling behind her and a damp breeze was blowing.

Two soft beeps came from the door, and the door opened.

Zuo Yue stood in front of the door, stunned for a while. Actually, she did not quite understand why she suddenly came here after work. She had clearly made it clear before that they had nothing to do with each other.

What was she doing here?

Her footsteps twitched in front of the door for a moment. She opened the door and walked in. It was already past five in the evening. The sky was only slightly darker, but because of the rain, it was even darker than usual. The lights in the villa’s hall were not switched on, but Zuo Yue felt a cold and empty illusion after entering the door.

Why did it feel like no one had lived here recently? Was Ainte sure he didn’t say the wrong place?

Zuo Yue hesitated as she searched for the switch in her memory and turned on the lights. In an instant, the hall was extremely bright. Everything seemed to be the same as when she left three years ago. Even the new crystal tea table was still in the same position.

Zuo Yue looked in the direction of the coffee table and sofa, then slowly turned her eyes to the bedroom on the first floor where Xu Chengfeng used to live.

He turned his gaze to the stairs leading to the second floor.

She walked in with her bag and changed her shoes. Then, she looked around and walked to the sofa. She reached out her hand and gently touched the coffee table.

Although it was cold and looked as if no one had lived here before, the coffee table was spotless. Someone must have cleaned it every day.

Zuo Yue was standing beside the coffee table in a daze. Some of the memories that had been suppressed by her strong self-esteem surged into her head wave after wave. Before she could come back to her senses, she suddenly heard the sound of a glass falling from the master bedroom on the first floor.

She snapped back to her senses, turned around, and quickly walked over. Without thinking, she pushed open the bedroom door.

Xu Chengfeng had just woken up and was thirsty. He tried to reach for a glass of water on the bedside table, but he knocked it over. The glass full of water rolled off the bedside table and onto the ground. He slowly sat up and coughed lightly. He lifted the blanket and was about to get out of bed when the door was suddenly opened. He paused and turned to look in the direction of the door.

The lights in the bedroom were not switched on. Zuo Yue only glanced inside and could see his condition. She raised her hand to turn on the bedroom lights without hesitation. At the same time, she looked at Xu Chengfeng’s pale and haggard face and the faint green stubble on both sides of his chin.
