Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 - 44 Making Fish for My Husband (2/2)

“Auntie happens to have a room that’s perfect for you to live in.”

As soon as Tang Xiaowei heard this, she hurriedly went to the third floor to bring down her luggage.

At that moment, the six girls were just about to take their noon break in the dormitory, so they all helped move Tang Xiaowei’s luggage together.

Chen Yu stretched his limbs and then returned to the kitchen to keep working on the dough.

Given the current pace, by today they could make all the raw materials in the cold storage into semi-finished products.

Four in the afternoon.

The moment school let out, Tong Ya took Tuan Tuan straight to the farmers’ market.

After browsing around for a while, she picked out a seafood shop that seemed quite decent.

“How much for this blackfish?” Tong Ya asked directly.

The fish seller was a woman in her forties.

“Larger blackfish, twenty-four per pound, smaller ones eighteen per pound!”

Tong Ya was somewhat confused; she rarely went to the farmers’ market to buy groceries and didn’t know there was such a distinction for blackfish.

“What’s the difference?”

“Actually, there’s not much of a difference, it mainly depends on how you want to eat it,” the vendor explained.

Tong Ya hesitated slightly, “It’s for my man… husband to make a nourishing soup.”

As she said this, Tong Ya’s face turned as red as blood.

Surprise was clearly written on Tuan Tuan’s little face.

She didn’t care much about that and quickly echoed, “Yes, it’s for making a nourishing soup for my dad.”

The vendor smiled, giving her a knowing look.

Then she scooped up a big fish, processed it on the spot, and turned it into large chunks suitable for making stew.

Immediately after, she grabbed two ready-made seasoning packets from the side.

“Just put this packet directly into the pot when you get back; you don’t need to add anything else, just a bit of cooking wine,” she said.

Tong Ya was somewhat surprised; she hadn’t expected the sellers to be so user-friendly these days.

“Thank you, big sister.”

After that, Tong Ya went on to a vegetable stall and bought some meat and vegetables, perfect for making the staff meal that evening.

At five in the afternoon, Tong Ya returned to the shop with Tuan Tuan.

Though the shop was bustling with a sea of people, it had become more orderly compared to before.

Chen Yu had already rearranged the staff.

Chu Hong was in charge of the first-floor kitchen, Zhao Meng took care of the front hall on the first floor.

Li Yu handled the second-floor kitchen, while Han Cai was responsible for the second-floor hall.

Zhang Qian stayed at the bar.

Su Qing was still in the first-floor kitchen working on semi-finished products.

Moreover, at noon, Chen Yu had upgraded the ordering system.

He made a clear division between the first and second floors.

From now on, second-floor customers wouldn’t need to run up and down anymore.

Tong Ya quickly took the meat and vegetables she bought back to the first-floor kitchen.

“I’ll make the staff meal today; I bought some fish, too.”

Chen Yu frowned slightly, “You bought the staff meal with your own money?”

Seeing a hint of annoyance on Chen Yu’s face, Tong Ya stood there as obedient as a child.

“I thought it would be convenient on my way back, so I bought some!”

Chen Yu breathed a sigh of relief, “It’s okay, what’s done is done, but however much money you spent, take the same amount from the bar later.”

Tong Ya wanted to refuse; in her eyes, everything she had belonged to Chen Yu.

Spending her own money on a staff meal seemed trivial to her.

But then she thought about it, this seemed to be about the relationship between the shop and the individual.

Business and personal matters shouldn’t be mixed.

“Alright, I’ll go get it right away.”
