“What happened?” Chen Yu’s frown deepened.
Tuan Tuan also came out of the kitchen with a bowl of hot water at this moment.
“Dad, you’re finally here. Mommy has a stomachache and can’t go to kindergarten today.”
Chen Yu hurried over, sat down beside Tong Ya, and placed his hand over her stomach.
“Does it hurt here?”
Tong Ya immediately made a pained expression and leaned into Chen Yu’s embrace.
“My whole stomach hurts, you must rub it for me.”
Tang Xiaowei suddenly froze there, questioning her life choices.
When she came up, she hadn’t seen Tuan Tuan, only Tong Ya lying on the sofa.
She had just told Tong Ya that her dad was here, and immediately following, Chen Yu came in.
Now, seeing the intimacy between Chen Yu and Tong Ya, coupled with Tuan Tuan’s earlier reference, she was momentarily unable to react.
“What do you mean? Are you guys together now?”
Tong Ya looked blissful, “It just happened yesterday!”
Tang Xiaowei took a deep breath, “But downstairs…”
“There are many guests!” Tong Ya interrupted her urgently, “Husband, you better go down first! It’s not that serious; I just need to take some medicine and rest a bit.”
Chen Yu still looked worried, “Are you sure you’re okay?”
“It’s fine, and besides, Xiaowei and Tuan Tuan are here!”
Chen Yu rubbed Tong Ya’s stomach a few more times before he stood up and went downstairs.
Once Chen Yu left, Tang Xiaowei gestured with her mouth.
“Your dad is here!”
Tong Ya responded in kind with her mouth, “I know, we just need to hide well.”
“But he saw me, and he recognized me!” Tang Xiaowei exclaimed in shock.
Tuan Tuan also seemed taken aback, “Auntie Xiaowei, who recognized you?”
Tang Xiaowei was suddenly embarrassed and unsure how to respond.
Tong Ya quickly waved her hand, “It’s nothing! Tuan Tuan, you go back to your room and rest for a while. I need to talk to your Auntie Xiaowei about something.”
Tuan Tuan obediently responded and went back to his room, even closing the door behind him.
Tang Xiaowei quickly sat beside Tong Ya, “What should we do? Your dad knows I’m here; he’s definitely going to call my dad.”
Tong Ya’s face showed her dilemma, as the Tong Family and the Tang Family had always had a close business connection.
With Tong Ming’s sudden appearance in Suzhou City, Tang Xiaowei’s father might be nearby too.
Although Tong Ming and Chen Yu had a sort of mutual admiration when they met last time,
he might not want his daughter playing stepmother to someone else.
Just then, Tong Ya’s phone suddenly received a message.
“Where are you now?”
It was a message from Tong Ming.
Before she could reply, Tong Ming sent another message with his location.
“You and Xiaowei are always together. I’ve met her here, so you must be nearby. Come over here at once.”
Tong Ya steadied her nerves. At least for now, Tong Ming didn’t know about her and Chen Yu’s affair.
“I’m busy with something and can’t make it over!”
No sooner had she sent the message than Tong Ming sent back a voice message.
“I’ve met a very outstanding young man here, worthy of entrusting your life to. Come and meet him right away.”
Tong Ya’s pupils dilated sharply, and an inexplicable anger surged in her heart.
