Chapter 163 - Chapter 163 - 163 Fathead Fish (2/2)

Chen Yu had once planned his own business empire and contemplated that if he were to open a hotel of the same caliber, such decor could serve as inspiration.

In the center of the hall stood a table, with an old man seated at the head, sipping tea nonchalantly, exuding an air of disdain for everything around him.

Meanwhile, Chen Yu had been examining the decor since entering, completely ignoring the old man.

“The young people nowadays really have no respect for their elders, not even offering a cup of tea when they see one,” he said.

The old man tapped the table a few times in annoyance, prompting his bodyguards to rush towards Chen Yu, attempting to forcibly bring him over.

However, to their surprise, as the bodyguards approached, Chen Yu lifted his hand and delivered a powerful slap.

Each slap was extraordinarily forceful, knocking each one unconscious with a single strike, laying out five men flat on the ground.

The old man’s eyes widened in disbelief, as his bodyguards were all specially trained, yet they proved to be no match for Chen Yu, as frail as chicks.

Exhaling a breath of foul air, the old man dropped the subject of offering tea.

“Young man, the Suzhou City Culinary Association has been established for decades, admitting only renowned chefs and businesses, being here was supposed to be an opportunity for you to climb up, don’t be ungrateful,” he said.

Chen Yu continued to pay no attention, instead, he stroked the column next to him, asking the waiter nearby about the material of the column.

The old man was livid with rage, seeing as no one had ever dared to ignore him like this.

“Hey, kid, Mr. Hu Yan is talking to you!” a man standing beside the old man suddenly shouted.

This fellow was extremely corpulent, his beer belly stuck out as if he were pregnant.

Only then did Chen Yu turn his head: “I presume you must be the famous Fathead Fish of Suzhou City, Mr. Li Jiakai.”

Li Jiakai snorted coldly: “Since you recognize me, then…”

“I was merely giving a symbolic greeting, after all, you reek of smoke, but I guess that still qualifies you as a chef,” Chen Yu said.

Li Jiakai’s eyes bulged in anger: “What do you mean by that?”

Chen Yu spread his hands: “Since this is the Culinary Association, the majority gathered here should be chefs, but from the moment I walked in, only Mr. Li could barely be considered a chef.”

Li Jiakai became furious: “Barely? Do you have any idea how many awards I have won for the Suzhou City Culinary Association? Three of them are even of a world-class level!”

“What a pity, though, all those awards have something to do with your Spicy Fish Head! Relying on a single specialty to win acclaim everywhere doesn’t really make one a chef, if I’m honest.”

Li Jiakai hopped around in anger, his hefty belly shaking up and down.

“Kid, if you’re so capable, let’s have a competition, I can even refrain from making Fish Head for you,” he challenged.

With a slight smile, Chen Yu replied, “That wouldn’t be fair, would it? If you lose without making Fish Head, wouldn’t it seem like I’m bullying you?”

Li Jiakai’s breathing became ragged as he waved to someone nearby.

“Roll out the mobile kitchen for me, today I need to teach this kid a lesson.”

Soon enough, two fully equipped mobile kitchens were rolled out.

Chen Yu didn’t say much; since a challenge was posed, he was ready to accept.

“Master Li, I plan to make a Sichuan Fish Head dish to seek your guidance, please use all your skill in making Spicy Fish Head,” he said.

Although the words were extremely humble, they were filled with provocation.

Li Jiakai snorted coldly, saying no more as he took a fish head from the ingredient shelf.

Hu Yan and the other bigwigs of the Culinary Association stepped back, giving ample space to the two of them.

As soon as Li Jiakai got hold of the fish head, he became excited as if injected with chicken blood, his bulky body suddenly moving with agility. He even spun several circles on the spot, spoon in hand.
