Chapter 168 - Chapter 168 - 168: Sumuter (2/2)

The clerk, already terrified by the dozen or so large men sitting in the hall, stood there, nervous and unsure of what to do.

Chen Yu knocked on the counter subconsciously, “Can you understand what I am saying?”

He had already switched to the local language, and language proficiency was a system-provided skill. No matter which language he spoke, it was supposed to be very authentic. The other party could not possibly misunderstand.

Only then did the clerk react, “I’m sorry, sir, I think you should find another place to eat…”

Chen Yu frowned slightly, “At this late hour, only your place is open. Where else can I go? Hurry up and prepare ten fried chickens for me and I’ll be on my way.”

After that, Chen Yu directly turned around, found a table for one, and sat down, ignoring the dozen or so strong men sitting across from him.

Less than five minutes later, the clerk had fried up five chickens and brought them over.

Chen Yu didn’t care about anything else and just grabbed a chicken and started eating.

Seeing Chen Yu like this, the strong men decided not to pay him any more attention.

One of them suddenly slapped the table.

“The goods that arrived here earlier, besides you guys, who else has the ability to take them away in this place?”

“It’s best you hand over the stuff, otherwise none of you will leave here alive.”

As one person spoke up, the rest stood up, and the weapons that had been laid out on the tables were now picked up by them.

Chen Yu continued eating his fried chicken, seemingly unconcerned, and gestured to the clerk for something.

“Do you have anything to drink? Anything will do!”

The clerk couldn’t help but swallow nervously and quickly poured two cups of cola and brought them over.

But after putting down the cola, she pulled up a chair from the side and sat behind Chen Yu.

Perhaps only by sitting there could the clerk feel a hint of safety.

Just then, a rhythmical series of footsteps came from the entrance, followed by the figure of a strikingly dressed woman in a red robe walking in slowly.

Chen Yu was startled. The person walking in turned out to be Jin Lingsu.

“Chen Yu, it really is you! Suzhou City said they were sending a Portrait Artist over, and I guessed it must be you.”

Chen Yu raised an eyebrow, “So you’re here on a mission as well?”

Jin Lingsu nodded, “Is that not allowed? As a woman, I don’t want to drift around forever. I need to find some support.”

Chen Yu shrugged his shoulders and didn’t say much else, just handed over a piece of fried chicken.

At this moment, the dozen or so strong men next to them were already arguing noisily, and it seemed like a fight was about to break out,

but Chen Yu’s corner seemed like another world compared to theirs.

He and Jin Lingsu were old acquaintances; it wasn’t easy to meet up here, and they had to catch up on a few things.

“So noisy!”

Jin Lingsu suddenly put down the fried chicken, “How can you eat with all this noise?”

Chen Yu looked at the strong men disdainfully, “They make their noise, I eat my food, the two don’t relate.”

Jin Lingsu wiped her hands, then drew two spikes from her thigh-high boots.

“I don’t have your patience.”

No sooner had she spoken, than she began to swing the spikes in her hands, instantly killing two of the strong men.

The others were stunned for a moment, almost simultaneously pointing their weapons at Jin Lingsu.

But in Jin Lingsu’s eyes, they were too slow.

With a quick twirl of the spikes in her hands, half of the men were impaled through their throats, and the other half had their tendons sliced, screaming in agony.
